I don't know if it's old age, wisdom or pure laziness but for $22,000. I would have to have my head examined to take on that project. I looked up some Corvettes and found this one for $59,000 get in it and drive it home. Could that project be finished in a month or even a year for $36,500 (the difference between the two). I'm just don't have the ambition anymore.

Good grief that was a beautiful split window hot rod.

And, there's another reference to "Bill's Garage." I have no idea how many "Bill's Garage" sponsors provided support for racers in the L.A. Basin during the Lion's Drag Strip era but the photographic evidence is proliferating.

I noticed that too. Either Bill's garage had deep pockets for local sponsorship or he just stuck stickers on cars when the owner wasn't looking :)

I'm reasonably sure that the "Bill's Garage" and "Headers by Doug" notations were both professionally hand-lettered on the car and that leaves me with the impression that the connection between any racer and his/her support system was a little stronger than a "sticker" decal. The "B&M" on the "Hemi Hunter" is a decal although "Sig Erson Cams" is a bit bigger than the run-of-the-mill decal size. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, the Bill's Garage (now, Bill's Dyno) on East Olympic Boulevard in East L.A. was only about a mile from Doug Thorley's muffler shop on Whittier Boulevard and that proximity causes me to draw possibly unwarranted conclusions.

Agree, the sneaking a sticker on was an attempt at a joke. Great history there, beautiful car and lettering on it. I love the LA/SoCal race history.

Looks like The Rod Shop behind Prontito. This pic is from late 69 I believe. I have said it before probably but that car was one of my favorites to watch. Car pulled the wheels with ease and still ran strong numbers.
