Got my chrome back from the plater. Finally put on the upper grill bar and installed the grill. Bumpers will be installed after I paint the front and back valances. Hope to have it back on the road with just the interior left to finish by Spring .
Being raised in a Buick family, I'm a sucker for those old Buicks. My first car was a 10 year old 1950 convertable.Love your car.Great paint job.
Fat47 here is the place that did the grill plating. I got it done through work, we also sent them $25,000 worth of Pierce Arrow plating. It all came out beautiful. Chrome Shop 565 Olde Midway Rd Menasha, WI
Got the front and rear valance painted and the front bumper on. Making slow progress, it was -10 degrees here this morning.
Looks beautiful, but I'm kinda thinking that aluminum radiator (or A/C condenser) detracts from the beauty of the grille.
MAN that sharp as a tack.Looks like the same color I painted my 1964 Buick station wagon when I had it and boy did it turn heads.LOL.Bruce.
The bumper guards are stock, I just didn't use the connecting bar that goes between the two at the top.
It's the AC condenser, but it also has an aluminum radiator. I agree, I have been thinking of painting it flat black so it disappears.
Just found this BJR. What a great looking custom! I too am partial to that colour - as I used Dodge Viper blue (we did mess with adding extra pearl which meant modifying the formula a bit to bring the blue back) on my '32. The colour never fails to draw positive comments. Do you have any "in progress" pics of the chop? It would be cool to see what you went through to end up with such a nicely proportioned chop! -Dave
