Are those 600 16s on the front? Do the tires rub the fenders when turning? I can't get my 39 that low with 600s without seriously reducing the turning radius. At the current height they rub slightly on lock going into the garage or a driveway. It has a Nostalgia Sid dropped axle which I believe is 1" narrower than stock. My eye-cromiter says your coupe is probably about an inch lower than my sedan.

 

Dan, those are 550-16's in the front and they do not rub.

 

looks like a missouri plate, maybe at good-guys des moines??

Yeah, that looks like turning into where Sonny always parked in Springfield behind the 4H building at Springfield. The road heading to the top of the pic would be the roadway out to the gate.

^^^Interesting Yellow color there^^^..Not certain that I've ever seen that original color.

 

I’m thinking that is the colorization of that photo. There’s no sign of a yellow paint option for any Ford product in 1940. Then again, never say never.
