Whoever colorised the photo did the bumpers, but not the over riders and also missed the side grilles. Maybe not a car person. At least not familiar with these cars.

 

The bumpers are wrapped in paper to protect the chrome.

 

I see what you mean. But the over riders and bumper bolts go over the paper or was it carefully cut around first?

In any case, I stand by my comments about the colorisation.

Back to the colorization theory.....

 

1940 ford dash colors are rose sand metallic and monaida maroon two tone on a deluxe. 1940 ford exterior body color avaiable sahara sand like my old 40 convert

Owned by Terry Henke, Picture was taken around 1959 in front of my house. I always wanted that car and nearly 60 years later managed to build my own similar copy.

 

.......Any idea how many Sahara Sand '40's were produced?

....Dang!.. That had to be painful watching that going down the road.

 

Happened to me once and yes, it was painful. In fact, as it left I turned away...couldn't watch.

 

Hurts me more than you. I was gonna pull the trigger on this one and it was gone in 3 days.

Great price on a great car.
