1936 PU: rear fenders, hoods (4pc), grill, few small parts are ready for final paintjob. This car will get black "semi-gloss" acryl. No, clearcoat just basic acryl + matting base.

Now, Saturday morning back to garage. Today I start to weld bed. Looks "potato sack" but still ok project.

Yesterday I was working outside. Daily 2-3 hours make some firewood. Now ready made (birch) 5 m2 (approx 180 square feet). Nice little freeze and days are going fast longer and longer.
Yesterday I started to make those "utility poles" with light. Here my fast sketch what Im try to do....

Welding table is finally finished. I was used earlier hand pump, table was all the time same height. I bought this chinese Air/Hydraulic pump last Autumn. Now bolted on with fast release fittings. Nice to adjust right level when cutting, welding, hammering etc...

yesterday made only two new pieces sheet metal.

    Tuesday pics:

Bed is worse than I expected. I removed all those 20y old weldings (rear panel). subframe was welded different level (RH >< LH) , so bed has bee nearly 1/2" tilted. mostly subframe was ripped off, which helped to fix it.

    Monday pics.
I hope, I meet some day that man (I know him) who was weld this car. He is older than I am, but still I want to teach him how to weld when using MIG welder.

I use only TIG because edge of welding is never so hard than mig welding.
TIG welding is soft and hardy

I was left tailgate to my friends car painting company. I still need tailgate when welded new hinge threads. Now side clearances are same. Tomorrow I weld on rear panel. today made and stretch holes.

    Dirty job, cutting, welding....
All prices are going up. gasoline, food,.... Yesterday I was change Argon gas bottle (20kg / 40lbs). Before 100euro, now 120euro.

My grandfather and grandmother on my mom's side were both from Finland. They didn't speak a lot English and I spoke no Finn. He was a real craftsman though. I used to watch him build boats in his workshop when I was little. I didn't need to understand what he said, I understood what he did. We spoke the same language you might say. Anyway, I am enjoying watching your work too!

As for @Tman and @Roothawg...don't make me get the s****!

Two types of s****s me thinks...one was discipline one was a bit more loving and later in life...

@AULIZ every post you make is part of the legacy of Hotrod/Custom here, you are quite the Craftsman and it's highly appreciated...you don't fear any task ahead of you...highly admirable...

Your Threads are well done both in writing and in visual...I see some misunderstandings but we do our best and I know you do too. We joke much like you do but sometimes I don't even get it...

Thanks and Cheers from across the pond always...

Wow, that truck sure has done the walk as a REAL truck...must have spent its life overloaded hauling rocks...

You're doing a fantastic job smoothing out the abuse it's seen...

    Hello,
I pause this 1936 pick up project 6monts. On May I rebuilt one 1937 21bolt flathead which will be bolted on Ford tractor. Grey Ford early 50´s made(bensin 4cylinder originally).

Summer has been good. I have drive GS Buick, Roadster, Cabriolet...
Mostly I have spend my time in Seinäjoki city marketplace. I have had there coffee shop (trailer) where we have been selling (5girls + I) 48 000cup of coffee, very much many kind of coffee bread, bread, pizza slice, hampasty,... and of course 4500litre Ice-cream. Ex owner died (cancel) and Satu (foreman) asked ,If i can invest ex owners all stuff.
My Hot Rods has been parked there daily. I have open coffee shop every morning 6.00.... Two days more and we close it before winter is coming .This week Saturday is last day we keep shop open. After that I have time to continue this 1936 pu project.

Yesterday, I started to shrink bed sides. Today continued 3 hours more. Another side is ready. Tomorrow need to continue drv side. I like this job now after i bought ow oxygen&acetylene bottles with all stuff You need.

Oskar is nearly 12y old. nearly 160cm long Young boy. This week he comes from Estonia. He has been there see his relatives and have some autumn holiday. Next week he will stay few nights my place too. I need to wash outside of my garage one 59A project engine. Oskar can piece it before I make my plan to rebuilt it or make big bore & long stroke engine with McCulloch supercharger. Let´s see what "comes out".

I really like how you did the lightening holes in the bed. Will probably steal that for my truck build.

  30. So you had your own Cars & Coffee every single day this summer?! How cool is that! How many hot rods became regulars? I bet you have some cool pictures of the daily shows, please share them too when you get time!
