Thanks so much! When you get a chance could you send the same photo but with the door open so I can see the interior a pillar?
The car is still being built currently. I’ll be at the shop Thursday & will do. Any others you need, just let me know. I found this one in my photo album.
Have you seen the post from Elvis regarding his builds. Lots of info and pics. Projects - 1933/34 ford roadster project | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)
In Canada, the lyrics would be "I've got a hot rod Ford and a looney". Somehow, that doesn't sound right.
Are you suuuuure you want the car? I mean I'd be willing to take it off your hands Killer hot rod brother. Jump in with both feet and get her built! Looking forward to the progress
Yes the rocker and sill are welded together. I have a '34 3-w and can take more pics, but it may be a while.
Thanks for the helpful photos! I appreciate it! Progress has been slow, but slow is better than none! Tonight I started marking out a few of the repairs and cut the first one out. You can see as to why I’m cutting it out to make new panels… I’ve got to knock the dust off of the hand tools and get to making some panels now!
I'd keep that chunk you cut out of the roof as a wall-hanger, or sell it as "modern art" (the second picture).
Ick, nothing worse than a patch slapped over the top of a big hole like that. Shame too, some of that original sheetmetal likely could have been saved before that was done. Definitely the right choice to cut it out at this point, though.
Little bit of progress tonight. I started in the replacement panel. Got a new piece of 19g cut out and started shaping it. Baby steps!
A little more time shaping the first panel tonight. My goal is to do at least a little bit every night even if it’s 5 minutes.
Started to weld the roof patch in! Also a little side shot for motivation! I started working on the trans tunnel too, I tried to make what I had envisioned in one shot and was quickly humbled by the metal… so it cut it shorter and will make it in a few pieces.. can’t win them all.
Great job @angelbaby65, that last pic in your last post really has the stretch look happening Bigtime...you could put a Merlin under that hood...
