Here is a photo of Roberts Drive-In, Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, California on Route 66 in the late 1940s. It sounds like it was the place to go in the evening when everyone was out and cruising. It had a distinctive art deco neon sign and lights really lit it up in the area in the evening.
A Standard service station in the fifties! I believe this is the largest sign ever, if not, got to be in top 10.
