Awesome and you know where to share it...Barris did these on the Chrisman Coupe Remake...there was even a 32 Roadster I shared here that's owned by a Hamber that had similar...These inspired fenderlets reach way back to the 30s...

I believe the Tognotti Coupe for that matter is also possibly owned by a Hamber...here's a thread on it fender pics redx'd but sheds light on its moment around 96

Barris should never have touched the Chrisman coupe. God should have struck him down. There, two sentences telling both God & Barris where they screwed up.

  5. There's a lot of stuff Barris should never have touched! His self promotion was a strong suit, design was not. YOMV

...Hamber @Cargo is a photographer and in a a uniquely fortunate situation went to an estate sale bought some photographic equipment and found himself staring at a collection of negatives owned by a photographer who was a close friend of Doane Spencer and this is a quote from his description of what he acquired below...

"There are tons of negatives, I mean a TON that I have been looking at and it gives me chills, there are a bunch of El Mirage "1947" pics. There are cars I have never seen in any publication or book."

This pic above is but one of those he shared...He was going to share them with us but something seems to have went south...Hope he's okay, he was last on in 2020...

I'm pretty sure this has been shared a number of times here...I thought it was Don Wagners Hotrod but I think it was a Dry lakes racer with a similar unusual body, any of you Hambers know?...

    @sixball, @lurker mick , @studebakerjoe , @SR100

How about you @Max Gearhead , you like these old postwar gems of the dry lakes...;)

    Wow finally fixed it...:)

@Stogy looks familiar. With that big Cadillac engine can't be too many like it. I'll let you know if I come up with any information.

...Hotrods evolving from Go fast Jalopys to Show and go with a lick of Custom...this is where one has to be careful with what they are conveying 63 or 53...many Hotrods made their evolution over those years...it's well documented and really paints the canvas...I note raised fins on the rears as well...

...Found It...:)... @studebakerjoe you had previously identified it for me but revisits are always good...different images pop up and it gets the brain cells massaged...;)

This Hotrod has seen many faces...

I still think its Wagners Hotrod yet when you read the story there is no mention of the former, thoughts? He might have swapped the grill out for a chrome one...

@Stogy its entirely possible its the same car. Wagner wouldn't be the first to take credit for someone else's work. Or he may have known of Binyons car and just copied it. The mystery continues.

Easy enough, at least the year was 64 but there's enough Hotrods that better make the cut... without the shit right in your face...I didn't like the bazooka assed T either...

...Here this is more like it, Koolkat did say some were ugly too...so this kind of fits that narrative...

There have been a lot of things on this thread uglier than a VW front end. They are period correct. Did the Tradition Police take it down?
There was one of those around here for a while, fugly.

Thanks @lurker mick, is 55 correct I think this is the early 60s...it's interesting both the Kookie T and Tommy's T got pretty radical upgrades...is Tommy's T still around?... we know what happened to Kookie...

    ...found that info...with your input...;)

    Quoted below from article...

"After the car’s retirement from drag racing, it changed hands and faces a couple times. Bill Roland purchased the car and painted it Cobalt Blue. George Barris added square headlights. It served as a show car in the ’60s, often times alongside Grabowski's T. After its touring life ended, the car sat untouched for several years before Hy Rosen purchased it from Bill Roland and made several changes before taking it back to the custom car show circuit. It eventually secured a spot in Rosen’s garage where it remained hidden for 30 years, until Hy’s son, Jack Rosen, got the car the restoration it deserved. History continued and the revived car made the cover of Hot Rod again in 2005."

I did...;)...I was reading the story and he was inspired by that Barris thing that won GNRS in 63 or 4, I guess it had VW front suspension and it was not well liked either, no worries I shared it on the Wild Pipes Thread...good enough...

I would've loved to hear it run...I wonder if it was fumey?

There's a big connection to Ratfink Art and Choppers in this build...Jim brought out his bad boy making this...

  23. That appears to be Buzz Sawyer's well known T coupe. I wonder if his friend Rudy bought it from Buzz or the other way around.

...you sure don't see FI to often on Hotrods but by the looks on this fellas face it delivered when the pedal hit the metal...

This was from Hamber @Badmoonreizen's collection of the good Ole Days and I believe it is him doing the smiling...too cool...any more pics of this Go fast Badmoon? I know you wish you still had it...283 I'm guessing it was...

Badmoon chimed in and it was his Brother's Hotrod and that indeed is him at the wheel having a great time...

...Many have left before us but it's no surprise that images like this end up in memorials...this was the late Gene Reiner's Hotrod Bowtie shared by the family surely because it had a favorite connection to his legacy here...did he run it minus the front fenders...he didn't have lights on it yet either...I like the look regardless undone even with the boards intact...RIP Gene

    Hi Stogy:
Actually it belonged to my cousin, and we all went to the Detroit Dragway, circa 1960. It was fast, and we came home with a trophy. I don't remember the exact engine, but we were always tinkering with it. I had a shit-eating grin, for sure.
    Regards, Mark
