    Hello,

This custom 1940 Ford truck was the brightest red I have seen in quite some time. The rear photo shot is in contrast to the cool looking front end with some flames highlighting the hood sides.

But, we still like the smooth look of the rear end of the custom, 1940 Ford pickup truck.

Once a 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery aficionado, the cool 1940 Ford builds always hits close to home…

Here you go. Now nine people I have sent this to. You'll see something similar on early '50's GM and Plymouth. Glad you like it! Good Luck!

I think a 3/4 rear view is the best on a hotrod. You get the stance and rubber rake.

I've posted this this before a number of times elsewhere. I like the look of the Model A and T rear spring but it needs the pumpkin centered to look right so I shortened one side. IMG_1088.JPG

    Hello,

My wife and I were cruising around our old stomping grounds down in the Dana Point Harbor. We have been (like all older folks) waiting for years to see the refurbishment of the old stores and docks to give a better feel about the whole complex.

The harbor and the folks that use it weekly/monthly are still waiting for the total refurbishment 51 years later. When the long breakwater was built in the late 60s, the surf breaks from Killer Dana on the point down to the Doheny State Beach were demolished in the process. At least the people involved are still talking about a total rebuilt harbor and facilities. But the surf spots are in memory only. (unless you are one of the crazy local surfers waiting for the rare swell that still breaks around the Headlands point for a fast short ride to the rocks…)

The old harbor buildings have had a turnover of plenty of small businesses. The parking lots are always full on the weekends and this photo was taken during the week around the backside of a row of shops. The old 33-34 Chevy pickup truck has a lot of old hot rod build parts and installations, but the paint and body looks as if it has seen its hey days… Perhaps back when the harbor was just dry rocks after the breakwater was built and the seawater drained.

Notice the large Moon Aluminum Tank and the cool AAA emblem?

An old style So Cal hot rod still able to cruise around the coastal environment with ease. Just waiting for the reconstruction of the harbor docks and buildings to begin… We have all heard that story for the last 20 years of sailing our different sailboats out of the harbor jetties. And smiling every time we go over the bridge to reach the East Island, knowing we used to ride pristine head high waves in crystal clear water with Garibaldi fish swimming below us...

The harbor area has surprises for all of us...

Nice post, but the truck looks like a 1934-1935-1936 High Cab Chevrolet truck
