Wow, that was fast. This is what I was envisioning. Any color changes? The grey is good but I might consider something a bit brighter.
    Thanx Moose!

Likely not what you are looking for at all, but I was goofing around and thought I'd see if I could get something akin to a faux patina on it.

I'm willing to look at anything. One thing I don't have in my mind is the color. I'm not a big fan of blue, but even that is not out of the question.
Hadn't thought about broziness but it looks pretty good.

I like green, but I tend to go for darker shades, especially with the bits of chrome and stainless.
Moose, I don't want to be a pain. You have enabled me to visualize the overall car. I'm sure as I build it there will be tweaks to the initial concept. One thing I didn't realize was that the body on the original was lengthened 4". Three inches in the door and another inch behind. Although this gives a long, sleek look, it may throw the proportions off in the final version. I'm a sawed off version so I do not need the extra length.
Also, I want to leave some details out until I actually build it, so that it will be somewhat fresh. I plan to start a build thread shortly, and would like to lead off with a full on shot of your work.

    Thanx for your help,

    Bruce

P.S. Anyone is welcome to offer ideas and variations

That one checks a lot of boxes for me. I can't seem to find it in the classifieds. Do you have a link?

    Thanx Dick,
I never hit the right combination of search words.

That car is the closest to what I want as I have seen. The narrowed body is a deal breaker for me, though. SWMBO is not that skinny:D

I'm zeroing in on the final configuration.

  11. Nice job, madfish...I've sat in that car so many times and made vroom-vroom noises and wished I had the garage space for it. It's a neat little buggy, but I'd have to change it to '35 wires and paint it bright orange!

    Hey, GQRC;
You know, you could probably widen the rear enough to make it work. Might make for some cozy foot room? Although widening the whole car kinda defeats the purpose of buying bones, I guess.
    Need a '12 Ford tub-tail, & ~22/23-ish cowl top(w/one of the very rare fresh air cowl vents in it... :D ) ?

I'm kinda stuck on a '27 cowl. What I haven't been able to visualize is the higher rear panel on a modified body. I was hoping that someone would Pshop that on something like Chip's car. What I'm thinking is that the top of my head would be just slightly above the rear of the body.
My feeble attempt was to take this:

    and cut it like this:

Moving the wheels around Like this:

Moose did a great job putting all the pieces in the right places, but I wish I would've seen Chip's car before I asked. The proportions are closer to what I want the finished car to be.
I have the drivetrain I want to use, and my pipe will be on the left side:D

Some of the earlier track cars took a horizontal slice out of the back then welded the top portion
back down on the lower portion. . It, in effect, lowered the back profile of the car

I butched this picture up pretty badly, especially the radius rod mount and the frame hole spacing, but here's a very rough version of what I think you were looking for. One of the better Photoshop artists here could likely do a much cleaner job of it.

    @Squablow,
Don't apologize for your work. That is EXACTLY what I was hoping to see. I want to have the flavor of Chip's modified and the one that I originally posted, full hood, upswept pipe etc. But I couldn't quite decide if the higher rear bodywork was going to look right. In my mind, I think it does.

You guys all help us artistically challenged to visualize what we THINK will look good.
Now to find just the right candidate to stitch up. I think I know where I might be able to buy the basic pieces in fiberglass. As I told a guy via a private message, "I've lived in Michigan all my life. Just once, I'd like to not have to deal with rust!" Beside that, I don't want to cut up a tub that somebody else might want to build as intended.
Thanx to everyone who has contributed via words or pics. Please feel free to offer suggestions along the way. Will be starting a build thread soon.

Looking for a little help from the photoshop gurus. Trying to decide on a tire/wheel for my 49 Hudson Coupe. I'd like to see it lowered a couple inches and with black walls, black rims and dog dish caps and also with wide whites, black rims and chrome spider caps. Thanks! In December of 2018 I submitted the first two pics asking for someone to photoshop them into a finished car. The Moose did a great job making the third pic. And today I finished putting it all together…

I LOVE to see updates like Jakesbackyard above. That's why we do this stuff, and it's great to see it actually become a reality!

Wow that looks great. I can speak from experience that it's one thing to make changes in Photoshop but something quite different to make sheet metal conform to those changes...Super Job!!!!

This obviously isn't the same thing, but for visual reference regarding the back "kick up" here's one with the seat between the rails. Of course your seat's a bit higher ......

I'm not sure my seat would be higher. Note that the bottom of that body is trimmed. I think it might be just what I'm wanting.

Could someone remove that orange sign and just make it look like brick, please? I'd appreciate it.

How's this? I also got rid of the grey truck in the background.
