With the "Dragway Memories" show coming up this weekend which is an awesome event for vintage drag cars only, myself, Richard and a Kyle have been working hard to have the old "Purple People Eater" streamliner ready for her first showing at a car show in 64 years. I have to say I'm getting pretty pumped.....lol. The dragster is really taking shape nicely but still have stuff to do.......

 

Finally got the old "Purple People Eater" looking like it's 1958 all over again. Dragway Memories Show here we come...lol...... first time the dragster has done a indoor show since 1959.

Major Milestone @Fast Elvis...show and go...congratulations again to you and all involved on this incredible restoration...memorable to say the least...I'll bet the next film of it at the Strip with have the Ominous sound missing from the 59 counterpart...

The pic with the Slicks off looks like it's ready to sneak into a Morgan road race...nobody would notice would they...

Thanks so much Thor1 for the kind words........ I've been blessed with some talented friends that did some incredible work on this project. But I remember when I first drag what was left of this old streamliner home about 6 years ago and those same good pals thought I'd lost my mind when I told them I wanted to restore it....lol.

 

Thanks again Stogy for all your well wishes ....... I'm still waiting on back ordered parts to finish the motor off but confidant she'll be walking and talking by June. We'll definitely get a sound track made of her tripping the lights at the track for the first time.

 

I've always loved the way those early full body dragsters looked and yes, I think the old "Purple People Eater" looks very sweet. Thanks again, brother The last picture is of the Purple People Eater in 1957 before they lettered her up with Stokers.

Thanks Jeff, much appreciated...... it's been a long road as you well know when you take on these types of projects.....but the day Andy Marsh the original driver showed up after we painted her and he had tears in his eyes as he looked at his old race car made it all worth while....... I have to admit, we all shared a few tears with Andy that day....lol.

 

It certainly has come along way brother....lol..... can't wait to how the rest of the story goes after I get her up and running.

Well, I made it to the Dragway Memories Show and even beat the snow that came down at one point...lol.......nice to meet up with Andy Marsh the original driver once again ...... set up day was busy

Just recently I had the pleasure of taking part in a photo shoot with the old "Purple People Eater" at the Rich's Round - Up event...... next stop is the Canadian Concourse Show but I finally got my back ordered parts so hopefully I'll have her up running in the next few weeks.
