GIBBS BRAND ON BARE METAL; and yes, YOU CAN PAINT OVER IT!! https://www.gibbsbrand.info/ https://www.gibbsbrand.info/blog/gibbs-brand-on-bare-metal-and-yes-you-can-paint-over-it/
I've just been doing it with no problems. I used copious amounts of panel wipe / pre paint / wax and silicon remover before painting though. Chris
I believe this issue has come up before and @gimpyshotrods (and maybe others as well - not sure, CRS sucks) was very clear that yes you can.
Yup, you do remember correctly. Standard pre-painting wax and grease remover, and a tack cloth are all I use. No fuss. Same thing as without Gibbs.
I used to build deuce roadster package cars using bare metal Brookville bodies, bare metal Rootlieb hoods and my bare metal deuce chassis and I always wiped everything down with Gibbs and never had any negative feedback concerning paint problems.
