Hot Rods gibbs

    wondering if you can paint over gibbs penetrant fluid

    I've just been doing it with no problems. I used copious amounts of panel wipe / pre paint / wax and silicon remover before painting though.

    I believe this issue has come up before and @gimpyshotrods (and maybe others as well - not sure, CRS sucks) was very clear that yes you can.

    Yup, you do remember correctly.

    Standard pre-painting wax and grease remover, and a tack cloth are all I use.

    No fuss. Same thing as without Gibbs.

    I used to build deuce roadster package cars using bare metal Brookville bodies, bare metal Rootlieb hoods and my bare metal deuce chassis and I always wiped everything down with Gibbs and never had any negative feedback concerning paint problems.

    Same preps for powder coating over Gibbs, too, I presume?
