That sound is unforgettable! Can't wait to get back on the salt and help with the Flying Seven!

Painting the driveshaft red so it's easier to find on the salt. IMG_20220408_122118192_MP.jpg

If you are looking for it on the salt it has likely already transitioned into a pogo stick.
    This is a great build.

That's why Fords had Torque Tubes.

I'm so happy with the way the Moon discs came out! Gas Pumper brazed up some places on the tailgate, I put on primer, wet sanded, and I'll add more primer tomorrow. IMG_20220413_163325695_BURST000_COVER_TOP.jpg IMG_20220412_165526738_MP.jpg IMG_20220413_155526906_MP.jpg

That GMC logo on the tailgate is probably the greatest logo in the history of logos- and will make the truck faster. But I might be biased.

Wrong GMC logo on moons. Should be flying M for 1946 like tail gate.

I hope I don't get contested for having an unfair aerodynamic advantage.

The quality here is impressive. All of the GMC logos are cool!

Bearing burner is an old friend trying to keep me on the straight and narrow. He sold me this project.

I've gone through several sets of moons on my '53 using 6 screws around the edge. Just get a few years out of them, but that's on the road.

I've seen it done at Bonneville but it didn't look easy.
Bob tried welding tabs to his aluminum wheels on the Lakester and it didn't work at 300 mph.

I put some color on the tailgate and rhe cowl sides. Above the belt will be almond.
I'm using Nason by Dupont. It really has a nice shine. IMG_20220414_134754495_MP.jpg IMG_20220414_134809390_MP.jpg IMG_20220414_143222825_MP.jpg

On this one I drilled and tapped the rim and ran a ****on head machine screw in from the backside, put a thin nut on it to make sure they don't rotate, the moon disc and then a nylock nut to hold the disc on, no issues so far.

Hey, are you leaving the rear fenders in the stock location or maybe raising the rear of the fender a little to help get the air out ?
