Looks like the LA Roadster club taking a break at the Jumbo Orange on Hwy 99. Great picture.
I stopped and took a picture of my 55 Ford 2dr wagon there on the way back from the Oakland Roadster Show many years ago, it was abandoned and falling apart. We would sometimes stop there on our way home from family vacations. Or sometimes, The Big Orange on the way up.

  3. IIRC this is Johnny B. Goode from Pennsylvania. This 1932 ford woodie was for sale at the NSRA swap meet in York, Pa. quite a few years ago. I heard that it is being restored to it's racing glory now.

    - while heading North on way back home after going on a Rod Run down in Pomona in my '47 Ford Coupe, a complete bee colony was on the move across the highway right in front of me and hit windshield splatting bees so much that I could not see - very lucky for me the exit for the Mammoth (aka Jumbo) Orange hamburger stand was very close - took a long time to clean bees off windshield and paint enough to head up the road to a car wash

Is this the truck line with parking lights on the fenders?
Look at the “suits” in the background.
