HRP: Those fog light directionals look just fine.

Something that I noticed on new vehicles is one headlight will turn off with the turn signal depending on which side is blinking. Would definitely make the turn signal bulb inside a headlight more visible on a hotrod.

Our 2001 Vehicle got a recall back in 02,03 where they installed a device that shut off the headlight on the side the blinker is blinking on. I believe since then all new cars do that. Actually maybe it is just the vehicles that have the blinker in the headlight housing as my 2005 truck does not do that but the HL is a different housing then the blinker.

Maybe things have changed or it doesn't matter to you but when aftermarket LED "sealed" beams were first out, the ones I saw were not DOT approved. My 2 cents, I'm not a fan.

My Lincoln came with factory signals and foglights. I used the the original turn signal for parking lights, and put amber sealed beam trailer lights in the fog light housings. Now I have large easily seen turn signals up front that don't look out of place. The 4" trailer lights fit in many original 6volt fog light housings without many modifications needed.

In my '36 and my '34 I put a dual filament socket in the headlight reflector and put amber bulbs in them for park/turn signals. The looked fantastic as parking lamps, and worked fine as turn signals, although they were hard to see at night with the headlights on for oncoming cars. LED's are brighter but at the time they weren't available in amber. I always use LED taillights after our Pontiac wagon was rear ended. The brighter the better.

Jim, got these on the ‘36, from Rodtiques. They are inconspicuous and retain the stock look. You’ve seen them and didn’t even notice, so that tells you something. B5A7EC4C-64C7-41B5-96D3-B485B77CF625.jpeg 84D53C74-2436-4A6A-9EEE-AB02EA80693F.png

Hi, where did you get the signal bulb sockets ? Thanks

  15. I like to build these little circuits that flash the headlight low beams. A lot cheaper than those ebaY items!!!! 3 5ohm 50W power resistors, a couple Bosch relays, and terminal strip.

I used the domed lenses on my 41 PU. They stick up and stand out better than the low-profile lenses.

On my roadster I committed a slight fashion faux pa as I used cowl lights on a fenderless car  and I wired them as turn signals as well as amber running/turn signal bulbs in my 34 reflectors. It's a bit bright I have been told.

On my Model A, I used new reflectors from Brattons and stock lenses. For bulbs, I am using the new led bulbs that don’t require adjusting. The turn signals are in the reflector, but I am using single element led bulbs from Holley. They light up orange, but when they are off, you can barely see them. They light up nice when the headlight bulb is on. IMG_0430.jpeg

Yes, I believe those are the ones. I ordered them from Brattons with the other stuff to rebuild the headlights. They are a nice white color, just have to drop them in. No focusing like the other ones.

Dude!! Many thanks. I keep grabbing the brights to flash thinking it'll do something. Now I can fix that!

I added Dorman 54427 1999-2010 F350 amber fender clearance lights for turn signals in the fender fronts with Standard S697 pigtails. One wire to lights and one to turn signals as single filament. 1-1/2"x2-1/4" football shape. Drill a hole and file two notches. I had made a can to tunnel them but decided to surface mount so just welded reversed can in.
