If someone would like to spend some time changing the fordor to the colour of the coupe. I can’t find a similar colour fordor as a comparison. Unsure about wheel colour, possibly a darker purple ? Running boards would stay black as will be covered with appropriate rubbers.

    Many thanks !

can a 57 dodge power wagon be hot rodded? lose all the 4 wheel drive stuff, lower it a couple feet, shorten up the bed or swap it for another and give it hot rod rubber, what can you guys come up with? here's one off the internet or start with one of your own.

    I say y-not …driving 45-50 in a bucking bronco would no be a pleasure.
A 2WD drive train, tire/wheel combo tucked up to the fenders, a nice 2-3” front rake, dump the mirrors, 6-1/2 to 7 foot bed leaving the back fenders, I’d chrome the grille and bumpers too.

i had to check to see if i posted this on some other site, nope, this is the hamb. we do hot rod cars still, don't we?

you can bob the rear fenders some but don't know if you can make the front fenders work, maybe lose them and the hood sides so everyone gets a good look at the dodge hemi under the hood top

It does look like braces.. Can you possible blacken out everything on the inner grill except the chrome letters n vehicle chrome lines.. going for floating chrome letters between each vertical chrome bars.. please leave the chrome ends of the grill untouched as well as the upper n lower horizontal chrome bars we last added.. maybe a 2nd pic without those horizontal bars if you have time. Thx much.

Wow ! Thank you @themoose , that looks a lot better than I imagined. The dash is already painted that colour, - done year’s ago in anticipation. Couldn’t decide whether it should be dark purple with light dash and wheels, or the colour above.
I thought that it might look too much, but I don’t think so.
Others may not like it, which is probably why you don’t see any that colour.
I had intended to paint my coupe that colour, but chickened out as I dropped the car off at the painter’s.
    It’s now gloss black…….
Again, - thanks, - it is much appreciated !

edit, - just noticed - looks like you put running board rubbers on it - it needs them.

@themoose ...I don't have any skin in this game...but how about adding white tuck and roll interior, matching running boards and chrome reverse wheels? With a bit of pearl in the paint, I think it would scream early 60's show rod.

That’s just too flash for the Husky to sit in……….who seems to have disappeared out of the picture :)

But yes, a massive improvement, and probably the best way to go with that colour.
I had thought about doing it this way, especially as the flathead running gear is painted as per the wheel colour of the original post.
The more I look at it, - the more I like it………

It is looking better and I like the bottom picture more. Can you place the hood emblems (front and rocket on top) back on to see how it looks with them all together. Also if you have time, change the car color to a red as that will most likely be its color (like this) . Thanks much.. upload_2022-5-21_9-29-4.png

I like the idea of this grille, but it would work a lot better if the background around the letters were a light grey or brushed finish.

Given its considered a medium duty truck I didn't want to shorten it or remove the spare, but I think this works. Add a 440 with a hemi 4 speed and Dana 60 with 3.73s and this would be fun to drive.

  21. I guess it would definitely be an attention getter and probably a lot of fun to drive....

    Really nice Moose.

  23. Thanks much for the complement...I always enjoy your work here on the Photoshop thread and wish we had more material to work with but it's been a bit sparse as of late.

Looking through my parts stash, I found a set of Packard caps like Sloppy seconds has on his coupe. What would those look like instead of the single bar flipper? Thanks. [IMG][IMG]
