How are you making an inside part on the outside of the roof, Ar you planning on sectioning it in both directions?

i will be making a one piece headliner for my 27 coupe

Will that fit through the windshield hole?

Now just use that as a mold and lay up one on the inside of that one. Lippy

Looks great, might even squeeze it through the door opening on an angle.

Anything composite I'd want to vacuum or it can be a lot of unnecessary weight. Looking forward to seeing it go in.

Please show steps, attachment points, mold process. Very interested.
Are you planning smoothy, or use this as base for upholstery?

I had OT project on rotisserie, considered a 2 pc with a center feature to cover the seam, didn't do it.
Doing one during a top chop would be ideal :)

Gotta be honest. "Traditional" sailed a long time ago.

As I heard when my most recent V6 thread got shut down, just because it falls under pre 64 doen't make it traditional! :rolleyes:HRP

How about a couple pictures of how you have the tudor body mounted on the rotisserie?

I did that for my '53 Chevy pickup king cab project. Had to cut the insert into 4 pieces to get it to fit. Made a 'gl*** center panel to cover the joint.

Used the top as a form as John did.

3 layers of mat is perfect.

I welded 3/4" square tubing braces for the top extension, which served as headliner mounting brackets too.

Funnest part of whole project was peeling off PVA mold release. I buy electronic stuff just to be able to peel off the protective films. It's a fetish.
    Headliner peeling PVA2.JPG

First cuts to shrink the exterior panel to interior size. Screwed the rough panels in place to allow accurate fitting.

Final cuts, saded tapered edged of joints for 'gl*** patches. Also had to add some egde fillers to complete the form that the exterior pattern left out.

I ***embled the whole thing into one piece to allow laying the center panel inside this main panel. I cut the center split after upholstering so everthing went together perfrctly.
    Headliner parts.JPG

I joined the front and back pieces but had to leave the center joint. Could not get the full panel inside. This shows the shape of the center panel I laid in the main panel to cover the center split. Laying out the upholstery closed cell foam ready to cover with cloth.

This is the center panel covered with Naugahyde, ready to install. I used hidden wire spring clips to snap this in place.

the completed headliner set, ready to install.

Thanks, I've been trying to decide on how to mount my tudor. Is that Raptor liner on the bottom?
