I’m still wondering who made those headers. Is the cast iron piece that bolts to the head exhaust ports factory? It’s very cool looking and I’ve never seen that before. Maybe Canada only? Thanks again for sharing all your art, on paper and steel!

  5. I run 2 1/4 inch pipe on my 390 with Hooker Compition plus headers . I use Hooker aero chamber mufflers and the 390 sounds great ,deep tone and hasn't got a tinny sound . Hooker make great headers and their mufflers are right up there too ,in my opinion !!

Back from the dead and slogging forward...... Making progress.. but time seems to be a commodity......
I have placed the panel on the right side.. much more room..... but wire connections come up short....
No matter.. have lots of wire in the proper color and gauge.....
Trying to use as many Ford factory connections as possible.
    Zap!

  11. A wiring diagram of what you have done should be mandatory for all of us who do our work. I find that my drawings aren't good enough for anybody but me to understand. :)

  12. I went by the harness schematic and booklet, but anything I did off the script is documented with diagrams and an Excel spread sheet. I have a series of post-it notes in the booklet that I need to clean up and at least staple them in place.

  13. I wrote down what is on each fuse…No diagrams or anything, I like to keep things interesting in the future.

  14. I bought a RF wiring kit and can’t wait to install it. I have four major projects left before I fire her up.

  15. I have one of those switches on my brake distribution block. The one from NAPA was okay at first, then started to take too much pedal pressure in actuate the lights. I found one on eBay that trips at 25 psi and bought a spare one that I keep in the glove box.

  18. Getting hot here on Long Island, so I drive early before 10 and at night when the sun sets. I'm also busy with outdoor activities, gardening, beach and pool.

  21. what im confused about is how a car from texas has worse floors than a car from alabama, that sat in ohio in a yard for a decade, i figured that alabama would get more rain and therefore more rot than a texas car, unless it was sitting a lot longer than mine was.

    @Jeff Norwell,

I've been wondering what your final decision is regarding nylon vs copper oil pressure tubing.

I've gone back to post #816 where you first mentioned it and read all of your posts thereafter. I don't see any more mention of it.

Note: I'd wait until "after summer" to ask but right now I'm thinking about it. Five minutes from now I'll have forgotten it and probably won't remember it for several months.

No.....unfortunately, the cost of Paint at this time is just out of reach.
For now,.. it stays as is and the goal is to build a good runner, that is technically and Mechanically sound.

  27. is it just me, or is the track width a lot wider in the front than the rear?
(this message seems to really not want to send...)
