    56' Cadillac sombreros.

  3. Sombreros are overdone.... Use something simple and subtle that won't fight the smooth lines of the car! '56 Buick? '57 Plymouth? Stock Merc?

Isn't it interesting to note every Cad wheelcover ever made is now a "Sombrero" ?

I put these on so long ago, I don't remember what they were. Chrysler something???? In the end, the only opinion that matters of what is nicest is yours.

Wires aren't for everyone but I ran the fake wires that my dad had had on his 80 something Olds Delta 88 on my 51 for a while. I always thought that the 53-? Buick Rivera wires would look great on a Merc.

I went from that to the almost generic 57 Cad caps not long after that photo was taken. They did look more traditional though.

The 57 Cad caps are over done on Mercs but sure look great on the Paul Harper build MS Merc. The bullets look better than my red trailer light tail light lenses.

Lots of good choices out there from mid-50’s cars. I even like the Merc covers we just put on my kids car.

Lyons is the wheel cover I would run. User friendly and fits on a variety of rims.

56 Mercury spinners if you can find them. Lancers always look good too.

I think the originals are best! We took the set off our 1951 Merc and ran them on our 1956 Pick up! Looked great!

Just because some people think a certain style is overdone it doesn't mean its not a good one. What are we...millennial teenagers that have to always be different from everyone? I outgrew that phase.
