  5. 53 Buick had a similar light as well, were there 4 lights on the car

  6. I like that those are a little more pointed, I wouldn’t mind finding some with more of a bullet shape

When I built my first "T" bucket in'65, Pontiac taillights were all the rage, and were already getting expensive. I used the '53 Buick lights because they looked just as good (if not better) and were a lot cheaper.

My recommendation is to "Z" the frame in the front to get the rake you want and un-channel the body, it's the only way you're going to have enough room for your feet. Best of luck with your project.

    Zac,
When I had that rpu last, it had a 39/40 Ford dash.
I'm also wondering if Mark might still have the flathead drive train that was in it.

  12. Hi Ron! That would be great, I would pay to have anything shipped, would be great to have the dash again

  13. If anyone is interested in the video update here it is! I will also be updating the forum with pictures as well

  14. The body was completely welded to the frame! Completely front to back! So we had to cut it all out DEB0651A-306C-4F8A-86C8-E5DEC21EB57E.jpeg 55C305AB-ADC1-4C4C-9991-EC32828D71C9.jpeg

    Not a survivor anymore.

  18. It definitely is. It’ll be driven and cared for again

Still not a survivor when frames get replaced.

  20. I’m literally using every single part except the frame and putting it back to how it was built, the frame isn’t worth the time it would take to make it nice and usable to today standards

Have to admit I was disappointed about the frame too. I understand the decision but I’d rather see the work to save it.

But it originally wasn’t built to today’s standards. I do agree with making it safe and boxing plates around where the rear frame is z’d would do that. To me a survivor is a car that just needs the brakes and fuel systems and maybe the engine or trans gone through to be a driver. Anything more and it becomes a more of a restoration. When you blow the whole thing apart and have to take a torch to it to do it, it’s no longer a survivor. Replacing the hairpins with new ones. It’s a modified restoration to your vision not the original builders. Just my opinion.

  23. I have to agree, ya missed the Bulls Eye when you lit the torch and deemed the Frame only good for Scrap Iron. My guess is you won't stop at pitchin the Frame. I get what you're doing bringing it up to a better standard but it's now just another upgraded Jalopy, not a Survivor.

I’d rather have an upgraded jalopy rather than a death trap “survivor” that was probably parked for that reason that you can just look at in the garage.

I get wanting to not erase the history of how it was done, but it seems kinda bullshit at the cost of not being able to feel good about driving it. It’s not a car with a load of history or provenance it’s just another old hot rod

FFS Ladies, its not some Riddler or AMBR award winner that was hidden for years. It was a hacked together Jalopy. Safety 1st - Great call on the frame!
