    Wow, that brings back memories! One of my 1st high school jobs was produce guy at the A&P in Richardson, TX, 1962/63. $2.25/hr and all the bananas I could eat.

    Wow! I started at a Thrifty Wise here in Tulsa at $0.35 an hour in 1961. I would have been in tall cotton at $2.25.

    The A&P was a union shop, hence the princely wage...:D

    My worked for Grumman and was paid on Thursdays. A&P would cash his check, so it was a treat to go shopping with my parents. They only would take one of us, we took turns. I remember grinding the coffee there and bagging it up.
