Retson, what's the oil pump off your front cover off of ?

  2. I wish! Highschool sports left me with a bad back.

Good question, I have no clue. There isnt any markings, but I plan on tearing it down!

  3. I know this is more about hopped up bangers , but would anyone have a parts drawing showing the order of assembly of parts for the input shaft for an early gearbox with a multi plate clutch?
Trying to track down a reason for the shaft to have excessive end float.
Thanks for any help, I’ve also asked on the barn ,just putting it out there.

  9. Thanks Fabber,
Got this from another member on the barn, which was what was missing.
Obvious to some but not to whoever built the gearbox in my banger.
“The on'ly protection the multiple disk clutch has is the addition of two extra oil baffles just forward of the transmission front bearing.”

Thanks again, it may help someone else also.

The local shop I brought my motor to for overhaul called and said they didnt have the proper machine to do the line bore for the crank journal bearings so I collected my stuff and drove up to Berts in Denver and a month later get the call the block is no good..bummer. so I put out a call to the model A club and a more than geneous member gave me 3 blocks. All have issues but Im banking on a 37 diamond block that has close to std bore and just looks to be in better condition than the other 2. Not counting on luck but crossing my fingers anyway 20220614_104806.jpg

  13. Did you get that from Troy at the roadster show? I ended up with the bare castings.
Yeah, we can work something out, going to have to wait until after Bonneville.
Was finishing up header for my car, much easier to just buy one.... 90 header 3rd attempt.jpg

  14. He had some cool Kong pans, but those blank front timing cover castings were cool!

Yes, It should fit my crank and rods nicely.

No hurry. Fit it in when you can.

If you want it done right ....... You have to do it yourself, It looks good!!!!

Nice work on your headers. I like your work, our headers upload_2022-6-24_17-47-46.jpeg
    are similar.

oh ya baby, twisted curves of beauty!

I am not convinced the tubing size on mine is big enough, just an experiment.

New Burtz block IMG_20220624_183859216.jpg Had a couple of moments with it. The oil galley plug at the rear seeped...was able to reach in and back it out and then goop up with 620 Locktite, what I should have used in the first place IMG_20220624_182022236.jpg then the rear counterweight hit the back of the IMG_20220625_160904154.jpg dipper tray...oil pan back off. At least it wasn't fatal.
I'll let you know how it runs after break in

  22. Hi Retson, would you have any other photos of the drive area of the red Magneto drive?
They would be very much appreciated. upload_2022-6-26_22-29-22.jpeg

  23. I can snap a few next time I'm at my parents house. This is a SM Smiley Martin drive, but for some reason it doesn't have the base for a mag or water pump. I'm a little confused still on what application this was used for.
