Dear God..someone save this thing….Mark Moriarty where are you..I fear an LS swap and some 4x4 fender flare extensions are next.. Man what a piece of history
Years ago, I saw it at a car show in Texas. I thought a HAMBer had found it and it was still on the trailer when he picked it up. At the time it was green and in barn find condition. He didn't have the money and time it would take to restore it, so he ended up selling it. I've always wondered where it ended up. I'll see if I can find the pics..
Well they certainly stuffed that. Hope someone who know what they're doing gets it. Wonder what motor it had in before?
Keep in mind these kits (or at least the bodies) were sold.... I don't think that flat black one is the same as the Motor Life cover car. The kicker for me is the shape of the scoops on the rear quarters. On the green car they roll over the body more, almost triangular. On the black one they are narrower and more of a teardrop shape.
I believe the green version from "Motor Life" cover is in Australia. Black and the original green car are not the same vehicle, not sure how many 'kits' were produced/sold.
Makes you wonder what the specs of the car were on the cover of Motor Life. Still a cool car, just needs some help. I think the car is summoning the help of Batman to get someone to put it back the way it was.
My heart sank when I saw the green version and thought the black car was the "re-do" of it, but I'm relieved to see evidence that it is just one of the copies. That untouched green version is a thing of beauty! Lots of these homemade sports cars had odd proportions or styling, but this one really nails it, this McCormack really had an eye for style and proportions.
that black one is on ebay, listed as a 55 chevy? and the current owner claims the body is 1 inch thick fiberglass!!! what an idiot.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/304674576074
