Technical I did it again . . . .

  1. Was painting a china cabinet with urethane flat clear. Had mask on, vent fan humming but as you know, spraying inside cabinets blasts overspray in your face. I was choking thinking my mask is not working at all. Started spraying holding my breath then scurry over to the booth inlet filters and got some fresh air. When done I immediately investigated what was wrong with my mask. Discovered my filters were still safely in the ZipLok bag, I hadn't put them on the mask. Second time I have done this. My Partzheimer's is getting advanced. Hope I never die of anything serious!!!

And once you start spraying catalyzed paint, I think the inclination is to move it along and get the paint down and don't stop for anything.
    Except a bug.

There's a medical term for your condition, " Recto cranial inversion ". ;) All kidding aside, glad we're not seeing another one of those threads talking about " What a great guy Willys36 was, RIP ".

  8. Another day in the quarry. You won’t do this again, next time it will be something else.

  11. What, I say what were you thinking ( racking your brain that is) when you done forgot the filters? All joking aside, you’re lucky you didn’t get sick or worse.

I managed to put the wrong filters in my mask and couldn't figure out why I could still smell the paint.

At least I had a friend helping me, he continued to paint while I went outside and figured out what the problem was.

  13. Good idea except I don't have any friends.

  15. At least you tried. I once painted a car in a 2 car garage with zero ventilation and the door closed. Catylized acrylic enamel, no mask. I was young, stupid and almost dead.

That story reminded me of a locally famous older painter in my area. Back in the seventies and early eighties he would be painting a car with laquor paint while chomping on a cigar.
