Another wheel that doesn't look like it used to.... The older versions have rounder spokes, not the flat ones like these.

Many don't know this but the early wheels used a cast aluminum center cap, they have gotten real hard to find, when polished they look much better than the chromed plastic one with the foil American label. My Halibrand 16's, they use an aluminum center cap that is threaded instead of the common five bolt cap, a thick self stick plastic logo came with them, the caps had a short raised rim that would surround the logo that I machined off and then repolished.

They gotta be just perfect for me. Yeah, I'm fussy but after several years looking I got just what I wanted.
My 63 had a set of the TTII on it when I traded for it. 17", I think. I replaced them. And bolted them to my parts car, so it would roll around. I was done with the parts car and started selling parts that were leftover. I had a guy that was pulling some parts tell me that the wheels on my parts car were nicer than his wheels on his driver, he made me an offer and took them home...I was very happy.
I'm with Mark on this, the TT2 just don't look like the wheels I saw growing up. All the spoked wheels I saw had straight spokes, not curved in towards the rim . I don't like them on 60's or 70's stuff, either. It can be called fussy or determined, but I wanted wheels that looked like what I remembered being on cars when I was growing up. For me, the TTO was close enough to that. I see a lot of TT2's around, but few TTO's. Mine stand out in a crowd, and reflect my taste, like them or not.
Our Vintage V, (5), is a reproduction of the 15 x 4 mag wheel. we did add safety beads for tubeless tires. the wheel comes with a textured and painted surface to look like a sand cast wheel , but cleanable. The outer lip is diamond turned and almost looks polished. We offer 4.5, 4.75 and 5.5" bolt circles and the wheel is in stock at $245.95 ea. plus ups. It is also offered as fully polished on the custom made wheels tab, and can be widened or made in other widths as a 2 piece wheel. Something the originals never were. We use a forged polished aluminum cap with stainless screws, not a stamped alum or plastic cap. Custom made ones can be drilled for shank lugs if desired.
