1950 photo of Fordson 10 - 5 van. (10HP, 5cwt carrying capacity) Lynas Motors, Ford distributors, Perth, Western Australia. Van has been dressed up a little with chromed hubcaps and rear bumperettes which are possibly from a 1937-38 Ford 7W. Photo is from State Library of Western Australia, 234308PD; slwa_b2280788_1; not for commercial use

  4. I haven't posted mine in a while. But yeah, a lot of people get the deliveries, and panel trucks confused. Deliveries are usually cars. But it never really bothers me much, as they are both COOL and FUN. I sleep in mine a lot at Rod events. Deliveries are smaller, so what I did was to have my front seats fold forward. The passenger seat to fold flat. It gives more room to sleep. Feet toward the dash if ya have a rake. lol 200.jpg 201.jpg 272.jpg 274.jpg 20170924_131506.jpg

Photos from State Library of South Australia. Photos taken probably late 1937/early 1938 by Keith Phillips at the new premises of Dalgety Ford in Adelaide. Period photos of Chevrolet sedan deliveries (panel vans to Ozzies) seem harder to come by than Fords, but here's a nice-looking one. State Library of NSW; photographed by Sam Hood at the 'Six Hour Day procession'. SLNSW_FL1450796.jpg

The truck body business was still a regional type industry. Ford sold the chassis and the bodies were crafted by various builders.
Ford had only begun with pickups in late 25. Making the 25 p/u the rarest of T Ford bodies.
One Eastern maker was a quality, central Pa. builder, named Martin Parry.
    They had several purpose designs.
Up thru the 90's a beer delivery wagon sat out on the corner near the Willow Grove AFB, on US rte 611.

The first Ford-built sedan delivery was 1928 as far as I know. There are some hot rod '26-'27 Model T versions out there but they are probably built/adapted from a 2 door sedan body.
If anyone can find and post up a pic of a '26-'27 Ford sedan delivery in original factory spec I would be very surprised. I can't scare up a single image..........

  20. Pontiac deliveries are rare. They used Pontiac front ends (frame, sheet metal, running gear) and Chevy bodies. Low production numbers. I had a '53 in a former life that I wish I still had. I just noticed the radiused upper corner of the door.... was that special to deliveries???

  21. There were NO Model T Ford Sedan deliveries, the first was for the 1929 model year after the Ford Company was approached by a Fleet representative from Jewel Tea Company to build them, that was in 1928. JW
