This is going to be one hot Hot Rod show!

Who's going? I'm heading out tomorrow morning, camping at the KOA. Look for my roadster and say "Howdy" or "First Rounds On Me", either are acceptable NW greetings. I will drag my Nikon along and try to take some decent photos. Bring a hat and keep those beverages chilled.

I may as well be running down in a rod with no AC the AC crapped out in my BMW and I am windows down and toasty tomorrow. I'll most likely have a light colored tropical shirt with a turtle on it and a Canon camera around my neck.

 

Only Ive chests. One converter into a swamp cooler. It’s a nice dry heat

Trailers?…Trailers? Drive ‘em!

 

Welcome to our world. It finally rained here after 45 days of no rain and 100+ temps. We have a 2 day reprieve. Monday is back up to 100 and up….come on October.

 

If you wheeled into Pendleton not knowing you were in Oregon you might think you were still in Oklamhoma but the hills are a lot higher. It's right on the east end of the arid area of central Washington and Oregon and at the base of the Blue Mountains.

 

I said this exact thing yesterday when we pulled in. It’s funny, you drive you a few hours out of Portland and you can find pretty much every terrain and climate you can imagine.

 

I couldn’t find a hotel so I’m camping in the trailer at a KOA. It is soooo getting AC by next year.

 

Been to Pendleton a couple of times, it is a neat area. A friend moved to White Salmon last year (part of the California exodus), little did he realize the temps he was in for. Mid 80s this and next week in the SF Bay Area, weird..

 

If it’s any consolation, I drive that car every day.

I let my wife decide, she opted for AC. Go figure. Ha.

For those following along from your air conditioned recliners it is 1:09 pm and 109 degrees. I think my tires are sinking into the parking lot and I ran out of ice. The ice issue has me worried.

Yea, not too many going for the Coppertone Tan today. All in all, between the water, beer, and good company it wasn’t all that bad. It’s a dry heat you know!

This was just after I got back in the OT with No AC to head home after visiting with Billy and some other folks.

The second shot is for Roothog, A few miles east of Pendleton and yes that is a landmark grain elevator up on the right side of the road. I have no Idea of how many thousands of acres of grain is grown between Pendleton and Hermiston.

I'm still editing the photos.
