This seems to be a problem I have never had in the past, when I click on the quote it takes forever to show up and sometimes it doesn't work at all.

I have cleared the cache and there does't seem to help, I'm just not a computer guru. HRP

It works fine on my computer here at the shop, it doesn't work on my laptop at the house, nor does it work on Brenda's or our daughters computer when I logged in using my information on their PC's.

Hard to imagine all 3 computers would be screwed up at home, and it's the only thing that seems to not work properly, we have chrome on all the computers. HRP

So stay in your shop and give your wife and daughter a break.

OR.......Maybe it's trying to tell you when your at your house you should be paying attention to your wife and daughter and take a freekin' break for cripes sakes. Over 60,000 posts..... a lot of time missed with them.

    This is your father talking....son.

Try restarting your computer, an update may be causing problems. I quit using Chrome a while back and went with Microsoft Edge, it looks a lot like Chrome but I don't get as many problems with it. Try it or Firefox and see if it's something in Chrome that is screwing up.

I agree totally. I love reading Danny's stuff. I hope he can get this problem sorted out.
I was having a good natured dig about his post count.:)
The place wouldn't be the same without him.

Check back with us, Danny. Is it still an issue today?

I will say that sometimes when I go to give a post a like, it seems to take forever. Might be a similar issue.

Don, I'm still having the same issues, the editing and quote features eventually work but there is a long pause that's as much as a minute or more, having never experienced the problem in the past it's a inconvenience when replying to a post.

Since I seem to be the only one having these issues, I think it must be on my end, ether my provider or my PC.
I've tried about everything I can think of. HRP

What Windows version are you using ?

Try changing to Firefox Search Engine if you have it.

Cob, from what I am told I am on a chrome book and it doesn't have windows, The computer in my office at the shop does have windows mainly to run the day to day POS, inventory and accounting.

Even replying to a thread is now excruciatingly slow, but all this is with the lap top at home and again I am firmly convinced it's on my end. HRP

I have had that 'go slow mode' thing happen a few times. If I log out of the HAMB and then log back in it seems to fix the problem. Do you stay logged in all the time? Maybe try the log out - log in thing.

Works like **** at home on all of your devices, works fine at the flower shop... sounds like you need a new router at home brother. Your internet speed at home has a glitch or something.

I agree. Chrome works great on a lot of platforms, but Microsoft Edge (Windows 10 or 11) seems to be the most compatible with Ryan's servers.

    Hey HRP,

You have the right idea of a very small laptop, but you are barking up the wrong tree. The Chromebooks have the following:
What are the negatives of a Chromebook?

    Cons Of Using A Chromebook
    • Very low storage capacity.
    • No Microsoft software supported.
    • Limited software compatibility.
    • Limited multimedia support.
    • Not able to play demanding games.
    • Need for a good internet connection.
    • No external optical drive.
This is coming from a 14 inch Chromebook owner. A couple of years ago, my wife wanted a small laptop to watch a weekly show only online. She was not going to use the computer aspect of it. She just wanted to watch the show and nothing else. There is already a powerful home Windows computer in our office upstairs. That computer does all that she can handle or experiment on various programs or websites.

I told her we would get a small 14 inch Windows laptop that is powerful, but very thin and handy to lug around the house. She wanted not to be stuck in the office, but possibly go outside or sit in the living room comfy chair. When I mentioned the Windows laptop, she said she did not want anything on it to screw it up. So, I asked my son, who is a computer savvy person. He said the 14 inch or smaller Chromebook is made for just such a person. Now, they are in schools for those to do what is necessary for the lesson.

The almost error proof Chromebook is good for schools. The students can listen, do a minimal search if necessary and not have access to deep internet programs or websites. The school internet connection provides a good link at all times. Then, the student can access the screen to follow along on any online program the teacher is using. It is a good small computer for such uses.

Since the Chromebook has such low energy drawing programs, the battery lasts a long time. Almost 5 times longer than my powerful laptop that has all of the bells and whistles. But, I do not go wandering around the house. It is portable and the only three places so far are the coolest rooms in the house, with fresh flowing coastal wind and a nice view. The main thing is, it is absolutely quiet except for the wind whistling through the screens.

It does not matter how much heavier it is, but I did not like those 1 inch thick lightweight laptops. They felt very breakable with the first drop or ding on something. I can still use my powerful laptop in the daily drivers, when I am waiting for my wife at the doctor's office visits or down at the beach when I am near a good private wi-fi spot.

So, work with what you have or go get another "fully" loaded Windows powered laptop. All of your current wi-fi connections will pick it up and connect automatically when you set it up. Despite the weight, I like my laptop and will get another similar one if this one goes to laptop heaven.

Note: A recent mention of a full size laptop from my wife was that she was thinking of an Apple Mac Pro version. It is very lightweight, has a ton of fantastic programs, and can connect to just about any wifi in the general area. It is almost considered the "motherload" of laptop computers with what they offer already built in programs.

The Apple system is difficult to like and get used to, when we have been Windows/Android phone users since the beginning. It may be beyond the new training to get used to a Mac Pro laptop. For her, teaching an older "set in their ways" person may not be the easiest thing in our future. But, it is a challenge I will not turn down. YRMV
