I would tell you to have fun, but you're already on top of that. Thanks for the ride-along. I always enjoy your shenanigans.

    Cool adventure man.

I hope you are wearing these glasses as they go hand in hand with a Rambler which is cool.

    I love this stuff.

In all reality, you take an old car, check compression and make sure it's enough. Give it reliable fuel and spark delivery, and its going to run and be reliable. Sure it may leak and smoke a bit, but overall, it's going to be a decent runner.

Threads like this give hope to the guys who buy the non-running project off of FB marketplace that with some basic work and minimal financial outlay, they can have a car that is safe and reliable to enjoy. Have a great trip man, keep us posted

Must have been a Space Age option in 59.
Hope you have the Rev Limiter set - wouldn't want you to over do it. :D

  8. Are you doing this LeMons Rally without a co-pilot this year?

Do you know how many miles you will be driving? HRP

Appreciate you keeping the flying insect population down in California.

Look for you on the coast.

You didn't even wipe the dust off the dash, now that's what I call only doing what needs to be done! Gonna follow along - looks like fun.

I like your speakers in the dash. Or should I say on the dash. Jim, you seem to have the most fun of anyone here on the Hamb with all these Lemons rallies. If I was not so far away I would love to be your co-pilot. Brian

I made it to SLO. The oil consumption seems to be getting better, 300 miles on the last quart. Now to go for a walk and get some sleep.

Too good. Can't wait to see your surprise costume. Nothing else like it on the HAMB, very entertaining!

  29. I had a friend who towed cars for a living. All of his personal cars were straight from the junk yard. He would do a "no parts" tune up. Clean the points and plugs, put them back in. If he needed a wire, he had a selection taken from junkers. He was a firm believer in fresh gas filters. He would drive those relics to out of state stock car races in a flash. I never recall him having an issue on the road. I was along for some of those trips.

This whole deal is motivating me to get my new Buick going and take some cross county trip as the shakedown run.
