Gauges can read all kinds of things

    Screenshot_20220425-162011_eBay.jpg

Had a girlfriend ask where the extra oil went when the car was running......Huh?
It starts out with plenty of oil cause it says high, then it gets lower when I drive, the next day it's high again.
Where does the car put the extra oil?

I thanked her for paying attention to the gauges. Keep it outta the red.

You should’ve married that one! At least she was smart enough to look at the gauge. My exwife would come in carrying a connecting rod and piston and say “Honey I think you may need to look at my car” it’s got a little noise in the engine.

My buddy had a 55 Chevy 210 that we stuffed a 348 in. It had dual points and a cap with two windows.

That is cool, not quite ready to let mine go yet, but have been keeping an eye out for another one.

Why not just shine up the chrome and mount it to the dash with the wires running behind it?

One thing that used to be done was to not use the trailing set of points and turn them on in high gear to retard timing.. One of the best things that happened to gauges was when they put a check gauges light in cars

I'm surprised that anyone makes "points" anymore. Not knocking them, but think of how little money a company can make with a product like that. I think I'd be stocking up while they are still around if I were into nostalgic electrical stuff. Do the big name parts stores still stock them if someone needs some quickly?

  12. my theory is that they made so many for decades they have hundreds of years worth still.

No it’s not! The Impala is on the lift with a bunch of stuff and a boat under it. You can’t fool us Mark. :D

If it were easy to disassemble it'd be cool to get a pic of a similar sw green line amp gauge with the shorter sweep than the ones in your panel and use a little photoshop trickery on some adhesive backed paper to match the sweep of your dwell gauge on the sw green line pic to match your other gauges.

Making the new dial face I would think, would be an easy photoshop project.

I have to admit that dwell meter does look kinda good in there. I’d have figured you would have put it in the 40 furd though.
