Instead of red, I'll bet white would look good...

How about buick trim ? I even like the color combo. no port holes though. I also like the tail lights. 1956-buick-66r-century-riviera.jpg

Doesn't really work. Better if it followed the quarter panel.
I suck at this. Need class on doing photoshop.
    Here's another idea. wbvg.jpg

You got your point/idea across though. That is what's important. Now let the experts take it from there.

My girlfriend's 51 has '55 Buick side trim on it, this is how it fits. It'd be really hard to make it fit any other way. It's not going to contour over the quarter panel blisters so I don't know how you could possibly use the end pieces.

I started with a photo of a stock Chevy, then chopped it to match yours. Little more custom work and Voila!

Anyone want to do a 3 inch chop on this? Maybe 3 1/2 in the front? Paint it black. 177786-1931-ford-model-a-pickup-std.jpg

Put Torque thrust on this with gray center. I feel that would be very cool.

  19. @madfish Hey Wayne, good to see your work on here again...I've missed you posting your customizing ideas here on the Photoshop thread on a regular basis but I can understand how free time can become a rare commodity these days.

Now were getting creative. love it.

  21. Looking for ideas for the nether region of a custom truck, a jailbar with the bars removed.

Cab has been widened, doors lengthened, fenders raised, and hood sectioned 2-3". The primary front clip began life as a 42 WWII fire truck, then spent most of its life on an Indian Reservation. No rust, but it did have bullet holes from the outside in and from the inside out!

One idea is to preserve its history with firetruck-esk bed. Another idea is ute like, with the outer half of the front fenders used as rear fenders. No ideas for the tailgate section.

Nose of the hood may need to be pulled forward a few inches. Lots of metal dinging left to do!

Dash insert is by a friend Charlie FastFeet. No instruments planned for the dash.

    Ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Moose, thank you. You’re the one that keeps me awake at night. I never know what magic trick you’re going to pull out of your photoshop bag.
I’m now somewhat retired ( I think ) so hopefully I’ll have more time to contribute.

This is rough, but I thought you might want to see what it looks like as a straightforward street truck.

  25. Thanks madfish. I like it! Would be the easiest option for me.

  26. Here's a quick one...Is that a nail head sitting in there?

Themoose, that is ace! Thank you! Very tempting although seeing the colour I’m now not sure. It works great on 50s kustoms but perhaps not
    So much this!
It’s a rover 3.5l so essentially the Buick 215s decendant.

Here is a Ute in Firetruck red. I used later '52 Ford fenders which I think work better with the ute look. Added some hub caps and and pulled the nose out a bit.

  29. Thanks, Dave. That is a great help in visualizing a ute version. Red is appropriate for a firetruck. Moreover, my Father and my Wife say that trucks should only come in red!

The only thing I don't like is the crease in the F1 fender. Use of a 1953-56 F100 fender would take care of that.

    Many thanks.

I was working on it as well. Came up with almost the same color as Moose. (Great minds, and all that...)
Thought I'd throw it in to show what adding color to the wheels does to the overall effect. Maybe a little better than without?
