RIP to my good friend Pat Ganahl. We have lost a treasure trove of history and experience as well as a great man and a legend in our area of interest. No more excellent articles. Sincere condolences to his Family. I am heart broken.
-DRAG RACE LEGEND PAT GANAHL DIES AT RIVERDALE RACEWAY-
Drag Racing Legend Pat Ganahl died today in an incident at Riverdale Raceway involving his Ike Iacono Dragster.
Pat was well known and along with him went what has been described as an irreplaceable mind loaded with facts and resources on the history of hotrods and custom vehicles. Ganahl worked for Street Roddee, Sunset Magazine, Rod & Custom, and Rodders Journal.
We have no further details of the incident at this time.

Chicago’s Michigan Avenue looking north. The 41 story Prudential building was completed in 1955 and was the tallest building in Chicago at that time.
