    BN,
The Lion's Club Service Organization of Long Beach helped with the financing of building the actual dragstrip. The City of Long Beach then leased the land from the Harbor Commission. that is why in 1971, the harbor commission decided the land was more valuable for a container storage area not a dragstrip.

For nitpickers out there, the official name was Lion's Associated Dragstrip. But in the world of typing something that one can read and understand, without having to define what it is, we all know of it as just Lion's Dragstrip. It is officially located in Wilmington, not Long Beach. But, it is on the city border lines of Wilmington, Long Beach, Carson and Dominguez.

It was good and bad. The whole drag racing scene was heading in a different way and despite the fact that is/was a sad moment at the last Lion's Dragstrip race, it closed. Now, the huge property is full of containers and the land is used daily.

By the way, here is one more thing: "Lion's" has an apostrophe showing some possession, as the English language is concerned. Since the Lion's Club sponsored the initial offering, it is/was Lion's in the actual writing, but has lost the apostrophe in advertising and news articles.

Note: There was this kid named Jimmy Lyons. He went to our schools, elementary, junior high school and high school. He always said it was named after him. But, he too, was a terrible speller all through our school days. YRMV

    My '52.
4.5" drop in the front (stepped arms, '53 uprights and off the shelf MOOG coils)
3" drop in rear (home made blocks)

Before and after shots I took. I have since removed the visor, as it looked off to me. Visors 'belong' on cars that are lower in the rear.
I have plans to swap in a '57 glide and rear diff to eliminate the torque tube setup, at that point I might lower the back another 1/2".

Mine. Fatman uprights and new Moog coils with one coil removed. Rear 2” blocks and 3” de-arched Eaton leaf springs.

Did you happen to take any measurements before and after on the front?
With the combo I used to get mine down in front I have *just* enough adjustment left for alignment however it's a little darty and I think that's due to the negative camber. I'd like to potentially swap the '53 uprights with proper dropped units and try to recover some more adjustment in the future.

I think the total drop is about 4- 4.5” front and back. As for caster and camber, there isn’t much adjustment. I placed the bottom upright pivot as far as possible towards the front of the car without causing a bind in suspension travel, with upper pivot adjusted to center or a little rearward without binding and maximum positive camber. Mine is a “little darty” due to bias ply tires and I need to re-bush the centerlink again..
    By the by…nice ‘52 coupe.

Yeah I'm used to the bias, but I don't doubt my center link could use some work too. I was hoping to hold out till the next swap and see if this older kook who had a rebuilt one at the last swap shows up with it again haha.
