Since I got back from my test drive this afternoon, it's rained an inch and a half. Not a summer thunderstorm, though, it's a tropical storm. Yeah, we know that the "do not enter when flooded" signs mean what they say!

No real rain here since early June. A short t-storm here and there. But it has been a stellar summer if you like 90 degree sunny days with no end. It has not dipped below 80 during the day since May.

 

Same here. At least I don't have to spend much time cutting my brown lawn.

 

Hopefully more oil remains inside the engine now.. I chased down some Crosley cars and outboard boat engines years ago in Benson , Huachuca City , Bisbee. Most of what I found had "its not for sale" prices on them.

 

that's pretty common around here. Everything is junk, but asking restored prices. I had to drive to Texas to buy a rusty overpriced Rambler!

 

Here in the northern Finger Lakes agricultural area it's been warm but not record setting. Rain has been adequate for the farmers and home gardens...

 

I'm guessing a can of red Krylon would have put the rebuild cost into the "not economically viable" column...lol

 

no, but it would have required lots more cleaning work, and made the engine look out of place in the crappy car it lives in.

Looks like that can of paint would be better used on the rusty outside of the car, LOL!

How are you going to convince potential buyers that it's had an overhaul?

 

The ad will read: "Two owner Rambler, four door Deluxe sedan, nice cruiser, fresh rebuild on the engine, premium sound system, pretty solid with rust in the usual places."

 

I got a kick out of the way the generator bolts to a simple bracket and then right to the engine block. Nice and simple.
Enjoyed the ride-along and the rebuild.

 

Has anyone referred to it as a rat rod, yet?

 

Not that I've heard. I got several "nice car"s about it, though. No accounting for taste

Actually these engines are some of the best to use boost due to the extra mains!

 

you must be thinking of some other engine, this one has 4 mains. Maybe the later 232/258?
