Me too, after I figured out it wasn't Studebaker. Found out after looking through American Car Spotter's Guide 1940-1965 for a half an hour, similar to @arkiehotrods

As a Canadians the first thing I****ume when I see a "shoebox" with a Merc surround is that it is a Meteor. Pretty common up here.

Better hit up the junk yards and buy them all, now that our secret is out.

Is there a Canadian car spotters book out there? Would be neat to have.

One of my books has a section for Canadian cars. I'll see if I can find it...

Hmmm. What's up with this one? Has a 1957 Alberta plate on the front bumper ...

JC Whitney quad headlight conversion for '57 Ford, same as we used on the Jolly Rancher. That's the first set I've ever seen color matched though.

  12. Actually looks better IMO.... Gives it a bit of an Edselish look to it.

They don't count Canada as being in North America?

I keep seeing cars like this and I just don't dig it. Stock trim, emblems, handles, etc with a chopped roof and slammed. It reminds me of people who only get their neck and hands tattooed. I don't personally consider them to be tattooed people any more than I consider these to be traditional customs.

This one seems more lowrider with the windshield visor, blinds, accessory bumper overrides and headlight visors. I like lowriders as well, but The chop and flames don't really go with that either.

  19. I’d drive the wheels of it.
But I don’t have any tattoos.
    Could explain it

Not saying that I wouldn't take it, it is still well done, and I respect the incredible amount of work and money that had to go into it! I just don't consider it a traditional custom is all.

  21. I guess.
I lot of the cars posted here probably can only be posted with the hood shut and no suspension pics.
I guess it’s one of those grey areas.
Would someone chop a top and not shave the excess trim back in the day?
    Don’t know.
I just make sure the cars I post don’t have big inch or incorrect era wheels.

but I agree the lowrider, custom, kemp, tail dragger sometimes have blurry lines
