My 55 was stolen last night . Four door, 210, 235 . From Upstate South Carolina. Please keep an eye out.
dammit man... more pictures? is it 2 tone blue and black? was it outdoors? one of those would be too easy to steal... man I HATE thieves....
Dose guys is gonna be reeeaal sorry when da cops catch with them ( after they get suitably punished that is, hehe)
I'm in NH, and I know it's a long shot, but I'll keep my eyes open for it. You never know. Damn, I hate thieves
Man, I hate hearing this. Praying you get it back in good shape and the thieves get what’s coming to them.
Ha!!! They used to, and as far as I'm concerned, they still should!!! Right in the middle of town would be a perfect place for a hanging!!! I fuckin' hate thieve's!!! I hope you get her back in one piece, Rex!
Couple of cases ring out in my distant memory: 1958, my bud Teddy DeMello bought a 'fixed-up' '40 coupe. '56 Buick engine, '39 box, Columbia rear. Columbia went out, we jacked up the '40 and left it for the next day. 3 A.M. or so my dog did a low growl, pointed at the back door...I was awake, so sneaked out the back and whacked some jerk under the back of the '40. Nailed him in the tailbone, hard. He yelled, and I gave it to him again. He had on a big jacket, so I let the Hein-Werner down until the 8.20 X 15 was on the coat, he was pinned like a strait jacket. Grandma's phone had a 20 ft. cord, so I brought it outside, called the cops and told them a thief was pinned under the car... They got there quick, (6 blocks away) and I knew the cop. Jacked the '40 up and the cop put the sniveling bastard in the car. The guy said I beat him all up, but no signs of that... Cop told him he was lucky to be alive, "Mike likes his cars..." Another loser prowled up to my closed shop (1980) my '55 F100 was parked in front of my 20 foot door. My dog Mickey growled, I was upstairs in my studio apartment, over my office. I came downstairs, peeked out the crack at the edge of the door, here's some clown removing my taillights, (Shields, with blue dots and chrome Ford script...very trick!) I slipped out of the door, silently crept up behind him, and hooked my cane around his throat. Jerked it hard, the guy went on his ass, feet high in the air... I laughed, then kicked him in the ribs... Asshole HAD to be 50, too old for such antics. He said, "I thought it was my buddy's truck, I was just playing a joke!" I showed him my .45 ACP, scratched my chin with the barrel... "Wh-what're you gonna dooo?" he sniveled. I acted crazy, gave him the wild eyes... (Meanwhile, Mickey's on her chain and showing teeth, large black German Shepherd) Again, the snivel: "Wh-what're ya.." "SHUT UP! I dunno, I'm drunk, and I'm crazy. If I let you go...no, no, that won't do. If I shoot you, the dog can have you. She'll eat you in 2 days..." The guy's frantic now. I tell him "Get up, but you gotta run. If you make it to the gate down there before I get to twenty, I won't shoot. But I'm not gonna count out loud. Oh, and I shoot 50 outa 50. Better run..." The asshole got 30 feet or so, and I let go with a round, 10 feet to his left, but it made a noise when it ricocheted off the concrete drive. I thought, 'I better cool it, this bozo might go to the Campbell police and tell 'em I'm shooting at him...' Went to bed, that was that. (Thank you, Mickey... Good girl.) Miss her... Next to the plague, I hate thieves. Moreso, I hate the laws that protect 'em.
It was light blue/dark blue. I really dont have any better pictures of it that I can find. Yeah, unfortunately those are easy targets for scumbags. We've never had much trouble with car theft around here, I guess that has changed.
Times are a changing....... But, YES! now you have to carry all the time at home...., and almost if you go out.
I'm curious, where did they take it from? I'm in New York but I'll keep my eyes open. I hope it shows up.
I hope its returned as found, the culture does and always has had a dark side understand the feeling of violation sorry to hear this...
I have said it many many times , you ask I’m not using it ,it is yours for the keeping . You steal from me , I’ll hunt you down , and you will never hear what you happen to you . We all work hard to provide for a family and keep our hobby alive , no tolerance for a Bastard that does this .
A major effect,,, aside from pure loss is the loss of respect. I stood in very bad place when I spotted 2 teens in a car, staring at my 65 SS Malibu. The car had been losing its parts. First a battery, Then a Holley. It was near dusk, I had just discovered My Muncie M21 gone. The boys noticed my fixation. As they tore off I Hesitated Jumping into my van, bringing a whole lot of anger to bear on them. The consequences could mean I would be cited for operating without a license. A habit that developed when the state labeled my status as Revoked ( not suspended ). Staring toward the sunset ( their heading ) I told myself this whole car thing has always ( for Me ) been about fun. I use other skills to make a living. This should be fun. I felt my heart expand, turned to the coupe and thought time to find a new home for this one. Sure did take a beatin on the sale tho. REX, Really, truly, I wish you Best. I hope the thieves get what they should. I hope your Double Nickel comes home. I hope that kick in the gut feeling goes away.
Outside of easy things to change, from outside and through the windows- list here the things you can see that make the car easily recognizably yours. I'm way down south here but you never know, Ill keep an eye open.
Sorry to hear about this, have you considered posting on the Tri Five website? Here's a link , https://www.trifive.com/
seems as times are getting tighter, more thieves are getting braver. Even had a car stolen from Iola this year but hopefully like that one yours will be recovered soon. Bad part is where you are located, it might be in a shipping container already, hopefully not and it was just a hoodlum taking it for a joy ride and it turns up parked on a side street.
