What you say is true but ya gotta admit though that the 'non-available engine' was a pretty bad ass motor. Engineering hadn't worked out the issues yet to make the Mk. II version actually finish the race. By the time the Mk. IV version was released Chevrolet, and all of GM was 'officially' out of racing. Then there was that Smokey guy that kept the Chevy fire lit for a little while. This was my favorite era of Nascar racing.
