Found some pictures posted on another site by a fellow named Steve Leary. He said they were taken in the Vancouver, BC area. Excellent examples of hot rodding in the '50's.
That's all for now. My thanks to Steve Leary for these pictures. Looks to me life might have been better back then.
One more. Does anyone recognize these guys? Year would have been around 1952. Edit: The pictures are from the first outdoor meet in Spring, 1952. Some of the cars belonged to the BCCCA, Vancouver, BC. These pictures I've posted show the type cars I remember. They're not Rat Rods, they're Hot Rods and not the over chromed, over painted, buy it out of a catalog stuff I see today. Not ragging on anyone, just saying it was a much simpler time and a lot of people today seem to have a different perspective.
It looks like folks dressed up for the event. The guy with the camera has a sport coat over a custom car shirt with a collar and maybe a “press” ribbon. Thanks for your efforts.
Wow, if it wasn’t for the vehicle registration plates, I would have sworn these photos were taken in the US.
