Finally managed to get all the trim back on and found enough stainless fasteners to get it done...
Progress has been painfully slow. with so many other things on my plate.

    Thank goodness I hoarded trim....

    Move forward.

  4. Nice. I have all the trim for my car and the clips. I still have to take the dings out of a few pieces. I will sell the doubles after I cherry pick the keepers.

Yes.I have one piece to replace on the pass. fender... really banged up. I have a clean straight piece.. maybe I will find the time this weekend...
I want to keep the extra trim.. just in case of some accident in the future.. so I have a back up.

  6. I was jinxed with my LF fender trim. One was shipped and the box looked like a hockey stick. The dolt of a seller just tossed it in a square box. The next one was even worse when I got it. Both times I got a refund, but it takes good material out of what is available to us. I finally found a good NOS piece that had minor damage due to rat crap on it.

Looking good Jeff! I can relate to painfully slow progress.

    Thanks guys.
Well. I am working this weekend and waiting for a client call.... I thought is was a good idea to go through front and rear bumper inventory.... sedans, and wagons... none are by any means perfect.. but a set will do for this car.
Why are they so darn heavy... ?

  10. My '57 has 90% of its trim, theres some damaged trim on the passenger side, and the center on the b pillar has one broken piece, aswell as a dent in the window "basket handle"(?) Trim. Ive been searching nd searching, but apparently 4 door trim, especially that exact piece, is very hard to come by.

Now I know where my 57 Bumpers went.:D

Hmmmm, makes me wonder how many bumpers I have. My 57 Ranch Wagon is loaded with an unknown number just because it's the best place I have to store them, Over the years I just keep stuffing them in it. Lol!

  14. I found a lot of trim on eBay. Set up a search and check it once a week.

    @atch
Mike... yea. summer is over.... so to answer your question....
I went with the nylon unit. and the only reason was the copper was just too hard to bend up with the engine, inner fenders and such in the way.... I would have preferred the copper... but the nylon will suffice for now....
I should have pre-bent and installed before the engine was set into place......
    my Bad....

I don't want to ruin this great thread....
but this is a real bumper!:). Imagine the traction you would have with this hanging off the rear

  20. Ive always heard people complain about the "bus sized bumpers" on '57 fords, i think it'd be a good thing in light fender benders and such.

  22. Jeff, since those rear wagon bumpers are so heavy and weighing down your property, I will take one of them off your hands. I can always use a spare for my wagon.

  26. It took some time to get my grille, splash pan and bumper back on. I wire wheeled the back of the splash pan and hit it with POR15. The top side with argent sliver by VHT paint. The back of the bumper was a rusty mess, wire wheeled that too and hit it with the same silver. I opened the parking light holes so I could pass the weather pack connectors thru them.
