Looking for information and owner manuals or any technical documentation for the Orner Motive sbc fuel injection units, I have been looking for other owners and anyone else that know how these FI systems are plumbed and tuned. I have looked through the jamb quite extensively, just can’t find exactly what I am looking for. I guess they are fairly rare, I have not heard of very many.
I know I've seen some discussion about it on the HAMB, can't recall where. Keep trying you'll be getting some info soon I'm sure.
I don't know anything about it, but to me it looks to be on a GM factory Rochester Fuel injection manifold. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2551248220...yHHYyqyqTxTG0JAQ7hB1K0KOd84W-4r4aAk_iEALw_wcB
Yes, I actually have a copy of that, it just gives an overview, nothing detailed on the operation of the system
The above is from an earlier post I made, the thread was a general one, mainly photos of different injectors. IIRC the Orner brothers called it the injector with a brain.
See if this helps any https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...on-my-vintage-supercharger-injection.1178806/ I also seem to recall a F.E.D with an injector like this that had flowers on it.
@cheap-thrills I haven't found the thread yet but here's a picture of the scoop. I think the car is being restored and yes, the picture was posted by @buickfunnycar.com
I was going to suggest consulting with Gene Adams or Kinsler about converting it to regular barrel valve operation and conventional nozzles and plumbing. It won’t be stock as Orner intended but it should work ok.
@Fordors Your right in looking at the picture i and @dreracecar posted it's not a Orner motive scoop.
I think Pete Orner was a fluid dynamics professor at my alma mater Case Institute of Technology (now part of Case Western Reserve University) in Cleveland OH. This info may help in your search.
I believe I posted before about seeing the Ornermotive injected altered at Indy. Their push vehicle, a 64-65 El Camino, had an Ornermotive injection unit on it. I think that was either 1964 or 65. Again, I had posted somewhere, that I saw several units and parts at a swap meet in Ohio several years ago.
