Stunning car @Sum54ford You always have to be prepared to "talk to people" when gassing up.

    Common questions and comments ...

What is it? What year is it? What's it worth? How do you get in it? We used to have one just like that ... except it was a '47 Plymouth 4 door and it was orange, but otherwise, JUST like it. HA!

I always have to remind myself that it is a good time to be a great ambassador for the hobby, even though I am bent over, trying to listen to the gas climbing up the fill tube, so I don't have a splash out, at the exact moment they are asking the questions.

My usual response to "nice car" is "Thanks, we have a lot of fun with it and we drive it all over"

You are right 100% about the gas station questions, my wife an I joke about because here I am filling the car slowly and holding the nozzle as not to spill gas on the paint all while I’m having a conversation with someone. They probably think I’m crazy. I’m with you though, I’m always polite. Most people are more surprised that I’m younger so I always get; was this your Grandpa’s car?

  7. Had one lady taking pictures while filling up last week and asked if it was ok if her daughter got her picture taken with it. Well sure! LOL

  8. My 39 Ford has Cadillac hubcaps. That really confuses people. I've had the question several times "What year Cadillac is that?" I just say "1939". Not worth correcting them.

I never get tired of answering the questions, except that time my son just puked in the back seat and we were trying to clean the headliner. Goodtimes

    Lol! One kool shoebox.

I've always wondered about their reaction if we would say no. Lol!

It is easier not to correct them unless they call your Merc a Hudson. Lol!

I enjoy it when kids want their picture taken behind the wheel of my cars. Last weekend at a show sponsored by the City of Buckeye, a guy asked if his son could have his picture taken in the car. I opened the car door and said sure.
The kid sat all excited and I said: "can you do the gangster lean?" The kid nailed it.
