  2. For you being such a detail guy and me being the Critic I am and only because we are friends (I think) I have to ask you, What's up with all those fittings on the inlet side of the Fuel Filter? Sorry but if I didn't ask someone else was going to.

I absolutely love this part, re-assembly. All the detailing, installation of all my neat little things I built over the last few years and everyday in every way it get better and better.

Buddy, I figured if one fitting is good, 5 or 6 would be way gooder! It is just the hard line end, the 90 degree and a swivel to tighten.

Painting really slowed things down, I don't want to rush things as this is my winter project this year. If I build it too quick I will have to housework or Christmas shopping or something, ugh the mere thought.

    Anyhoo, it'll have a hood...I hope

  7. Amazing! That’s gorgeous. Thanks for the incentive to get back on mine.
Still fugging around with the 283 engine install in the coupe.
The things that interfere and slow me down seem to come faster and be more involved.
One of the side effects of old age. I really need to focus on my productivity. Or lack of it.

They longer they sit the more I forget where I put stuff. That is really the reason I work as fast as I do.

The flooring in the PU will be rubber and actually would have been done by now except I f'd it up. I bought the uncut rubber floor from Carpenters 'cause my brake pedal is a hangy not an erecty, however I needed to cut the steering column hole...uh yeah, I cut it on the wrong side. It seems that when I put it in I had it upside down. What a dumb ass. Anyone with RHS need a truck mat?
I did apply sound deadener to the entire floor and firewall including under and behind the seat. I added carpet over that on the firewall down to the toe board where the rubber mat will be and the under seat area including the sides of the seat riser. Odyssey PC925 bolted in it's final resting place.
    upload_2022-10-5_11-3-21.png
This is my new Glide seat frame that opens to access the under seat area which will contain all my electrics far from the eye of passers by.
Sound deadener is SecondSkin and it is applied in the front kick panel areas and up the back of the cab. I ran out and ordered another box to complete the doors and the remainder of the cab.

I added the brake pedal bracket and the gas pedal. I have to install the cowl vent and motor, the Newport wipers and then the Vintage Air in that order as it gets tight under there. Then I can make up my AC and heater hoses. I am taking advantage of not having the doors on right now.

Why not use the F'd up rubber floor covering to cover the firewall instead of carpet so it would look like it belongs in there?

I haven't had a lot of time to work on the truck due to an indoor show I entered my roadster in last weekend but I did find some garage time yesterday.
I installed the column drop. This is a piece I built out of a connecting rod and polished, the bolts that secure it to the dash also secure the steel brace I built that runs to the brake pedal bracket. The bracket braces the dash as well as the pedal assembly. I still have to add a couple of nuts back there on top. I made it in two pieces for ease of installation. You can also just see the ground bus on the firewall. I welded studs to secure it early on so there is no bolts through my firewall.
    upload_2022-10-12_12-15-53.png
I also started adding some of the switches to the dash (becuase that is the box I opened). There are only 4, ignition, headlights, fog light and wipers. They all got some cool chrome steel bezels I dug up on line. The Wiper switch is going to require a custom nut that I will have to build. 7/16 24 and it needs to be deep reach like an inverted GM headlight switch retainer with female threads. The jeweled lights are my e-brake warning (red), fog light (amber) and there will be a green one just because it makes it look like a traffic light. Not sure what I will use it for.

I installed Vintage Air AC and since I purchased directly through them they are allowing me to borrow the crimping tool to make my lines. I should receive it by the weekend. I just have to install the under dash unit and mock up those lines inside the car. The engine bay is already mocked up. Over in the corner peaking around the inner fender are the water heater lines. They line up nicely with the compact ac unit as the water lines are in the bottom of the unit, AC lines are up top. The receiver drier is mounted to the inner fender using an aluminum fuel pump mount that I sourced on line.

Every little bit get's me closer to the finish line.

Green could be blinkers or high beam. Though high is typically blue

The Classic Instruments cluster I purchased has the blinkers and high beam indicators built in. Good idea though.

  15. Just pigtail off the high beam indicator light and put it to the green light, so you have two high beam indicator lights that way. For the most part neither will be on much. Or you could make it a low bourbon indicator warning light.

That engine is deserving of a line lock tied to that green light for some Smokey moments. Truck is looking great!

I like it but I usually know when the line-locs are set...my balls start sweating.

It doesn't have an iron. It does have seat heaters, hmmm

You guys are killing it today! Low on Jim Beam.

Everything goes with Makers Mark. I was watching Return of the Pink Panther the other night and Sellers was drinking Kalua and Ginger Ale, that's disgusting.

It's embarrassing but I need new buffing wheels for my polisher. You would think i would have a kitchen cabinet full of them and mother's polish. But that would be crazy, right?! Who the hell would stock their kitchen with car stuff

Duh...... gotta use the kitchen for something....

  29. Since it's a shop truck, maybe hook the green light and a safety beeper up to your transmission reverse switch. Or is it NOT really a shop truck?

Well, it was built in my shop, painted in my shop, assembled in my shop so I guess that makes it a shop truck right?
