...Or, shames me into doing something, I'm not sure which. After a summer of not really driving the Diamond T much (the wagon and the Roadster took precedence, and the truck had a time out to get the tired transmission rebuilt), I'd neglected it appearance wise. When I painted the roadster a year ago, the truck was in the back bay of the shop, tarps up to make my "paint booth" and the truck was covered with a (admittedly cheap) car cover, but it was COVERED with blue overspray. So, I got busy to today and polished it off. I have to admit I should have tackled this job before the season was over, but, I was busy. Next spring it gets a new steering box to replace the EXTREMELY loose GM Saginaw pickup box that's in it now, and a new brake pedal hanger and pedal to fix the too much travel of the one that's in there. It scared my wife driving it, I guess I've gotten used to sloppy, loose steering and too much travel (hey, it stops), so that'll keep me busy next spring. Those stars in the fenders are Merit Badges to prove it's been driven hard for the past 10n years.
Heck, I was thinking you were gonna show all the chrome and engine polish you did. BB does do some nice work, that’s for sure.
Yep, those stars are why I'm fitting inner fender panels. You can pretend it's not gonna happen but...especially if you use your car.
Funny, but as you were keying this thread in I was out on a ladder polishing my black, enclosed car tailer. During the summer I ran along a tree somewhere and it left scratches all down the side toward to top. Buffer, Griots Garage heavy cutting/polish, lots of sweat and no more scratches. Even I couldn't believe they came out. If I was in an accident and put back together like robo cop, I would have a buffer that stores in my false leg.
I looked at my enclosed trailer yesterday (it's white), and noticed it has some lichen growing on it. Since you're all practiced up polishing trailers, this one would be a piece of cake compared to a scratched up black one!
Primered trailers with red wheels are The king of detail (BB) keeps me motivated to keep on with my 40 pickup. I figure if I can get half the results he does, I’m good.
White is easy. I was afraid you were going to ask me to polish the travel trailer It depends on who you ask. If you asked my buddy Kim on Saturday, stuck on the side of the freeway and no tow trucks available for hours, my trailer was looking perfectly traditional.
I always like it when I hear a guy spouting off "if you see my car on/in a trailer, call the police because it's stolen". I know we are supposed to be of the "old days" mindset here but there are some things people just need to get over! Hmmm
