Hot Rods The General goes on a sortie

It was a beautiful day so I thought I'd take a video of the General going for a sortie (beer run)
Anyway , the camera work is sketchy , the sound is bad but it was a fun little rip.

That is a really sweet looking 6,,,,,,,sounds like it runs very well too .
From what I could see,,,,,,an incredible hot rod,,,,,,you really did good !

Also,,,,,,,some beautiful scenery there as well,,,,,,very pleasant ride .

Thanks for all the kind words! It's been so much fun finally getting this jalopy on the road. Actually at a cruise night there was a mom and her kids walking by and the littlest one asked "Mom , what is that? " the lady said it's a jalopy ! .....That was the nicest thing anyone could say....I got a little tear!
It is fun to drive , no accessories , no music , loud , rough , just like I wanted it to be....a hotrod
I'd like to get another video of it driving by. As much fun as it is , it would be nice to be able to see it from the other viewpoint. I'll see if the wife wants to stand at the side of the road and video me.

I wish it was mine...but seeing and hearing it is a very reasonable compromise...in fact I'll never tire of it...keep them coming...

 

i noticed there was a gauge on the dash that was flipping back and forth, low to high. what gauge is that?
also, is that speedometer accurate?! that was a fast 0-100 even by modern standards!

 

Good eye! The fuel gauge moves when the tank gets to 1/4 or less....I guess it kind of warns me when I'm low. The speedo is a bit off , 75 on the gauge is about 60 on my gps . I have to get a higher tooth count gear to bring the speed down .
