This was in my model A attached to a turbo 350,I put a 4 speed in it.My GTO had a similar one, whats it out of?
To answer the OP's question the Autostick 1 was an aftermarket shifter manufactured by Hurst in the early 70's. It was not available in any car but could be bought for different transmission applications like TH35o, Th400, ford C4, etc. and there was a cable operated version for vans.
Cool shifter, seems you push to the right and it ratchets. I had a ‘69 Firebird and the factory shifter did that as as well. But don’t recall now if it was to the right or left.
I have one in my 69 el Camino and my 64 Bonneville. Both cars have turbo 400 ******s. That shifter is the best automatic shifter ever made period. Its bolted to the transmission and has direct linkage no cable nonsense.
the only issue is no reverse lockout, and I think no NSS or backup light switch. Which is fine for a normal street car, but a pain to go racing with.
