  1. If you keep this up, this creation is actually going to look like something, and it will keep em guessing.

Found a neat piece from idk what that I will run over the 1x1 behind the seat! 20221025_112635.jpg Also figured I would post the car that inspired the lincoln 337 engine going into the roadster Screenshot_20221028_145212.jpg ...no, its not a 337, its a cad flatty but from 40 yds away you could tell it was unique and looks like a beast, the lincoln should satisfy the same look

Stayed up until about 4:30 this morning in the shop. Managed to make leaps and bounds with the dash and guage project! 20221101_012245.jpg 20221101_012253.jpg I got the other side of holes cut then I tacked on some bolts to mount the pods. 20221101_014717.jpg 20221101_014719.jpg Really happy with how thats going. Its not perfect but I think its cool. I think when its done, the raised part around the guages that looks like a bezel I am going to have powder coated silver then paint the rest of the dash.

With the cad flatty I also got a rebuilt 47 merc front end and rear end. 20221101_025126.jpg I got to looking at the drop, did some measuring, removed the sway bar and panhard bar and stuck my 39 front spring pack on it.....the punch line is it looks like a gasser! 20221101_025130.jpg Oh well...I tried! Looks like I still need to order a drop axle! I think I am still goimg to push forward with the 49 lincoln flathead for this rod. If I run into major issues I can always still run the cad flatty

Heres my gasser lol I doubt even with the 850 lb lincoln that this would set down enough! 20221101_111956.jpg 20221101_112012.jpg

Maybe I missed it. But with the spring in front have you shortened the wheelbase or lengthened the hood area? That’s an area I haven’t figured out how to handle on mine. Keep original crossmember for radiator support and add another crossmember for spring? Doesn’t sound right.

When i did my sweep in the rear, I lengthened the frame, spring in front is a neat period correct way to get lower, its not in the tardel book though and has its own can of worms...I also used a model aa truck crossmember so it would accept the later wider front springs. Am saving my pennies to get a 4" dropped i-beam with the 38.5" wide perch holes so I can use my 39 spring pack and split bones. So no major wheelbase changes, hood is longer but I did that on purpose so I could have an easier time fitting either the lincoln 337 or the caddy

Well...this is here now. Havnt managed to do more than take it out of the box. Pecking away at a mountain of crap that ive been buried under. Shot a deer, finishing up my last construction gig. I am now 100% parts buying and selling! Hopefully i can get my new cast (oh well) drop axle in soon! 20221122_174144.jpg

Made some progress finally... 20221127_111447.jpg couldnt get over how ugly my new drop axle was (its cast and they hacked and ground off the seams) so i cleaned it up today. 20221127_114723.jpg 20221127_120510.jpg 20221127_121104.jpg 20221127_121713.jpg 20221127_121725.jpg After quite a slippery slope of how far should I go with this, I spray bombed some red oxide on 20221127_123430.jpg then stuck my in need of being dropped spindles on. Pulled the 47 front end out and took a break. 20221127_154248.jpg Looking forward to seeing this thing lower!

Slow progress. Lots of time watching the kids and with it being so cold, the short windows of time dont really justify heating the shop so progress is at a crawl...managed to get here today though! Spring on next and I can see how close ride height is. 20221202_175334.jpg Need to install the full rear spring pack I scored at the swap meet too as well as drop the steering arms as soon as I can get oxygen and acetyline bottles, I have a handful of torches, regulators and hoses at this point but no bottles

Finally got my I-beam up. Need to refill my bottle and weld some supporting bracketry on it but I needed this in order to pull the body by myself for the next steps 20221211_114556.jpg

  19. Ya Baby! Hot Rod Lincoln. I gotta admit mixed bag of stuff can leave me with a bit of a scrunched up face but, it's all about execution. Truthfully it takes a lot to separate oneself from a belly button world. Giv'er Shit Man!

Goal is to make it clean and blended well enough that it looks like it was intended that way. Long way to go yet but I think its gonna come together nicely! Thanks for the kind words and compliment!

Supports in! 20221214_104656.jpg axle underneath 20221214_112118.jpg Need to shorten the drop shackles, the angle is too extreme to run without a panhard. Next will stick the new rear spring pack in and see if that brings the booty up the inch or 2 needed for the rake I am after. Also would like to set 850 lbs on the front of the frame to simulate the engine

Been bugging me for a while and I know its silly but the windshield was a half inch too narrow for this cowl... most people would probably never notice but I saw it constantly so I added a half inch tonight. IMG_20221216_214849.jpg 20221216_212328.jpg Within that repair, I cut out a .22 cal bullet hole also and replaced that entire area on the top. After I did that I raised the drivers side stanchion a 32nd of an inch... 20221216_212312.jpg again, not a huge deal but it was buggin me. There are some other issues as well but I am undecided on the best way to approach them... I am going to open up the diagonal seams at the top and add brackets to make the top removable for installing glass. When I do this, I may remove another half inch of height. Not positive yet, needs a few more hours of staring...

This ought to do it...will mount tie rod from the bottom 20230106_163606.jpg that sure is an upper body work out! Wish i had a second set of hands! 20230106_170107.jpg first I twisted. 20230106_170848.jpg then I bent down and rotated the eyes back upright. 20230106_170853.jpg that left me with lock to lock rotation and plenty of clearance from what I can see 20230106_170912.jpg
The tie rod nut MAY make contact just before full lock but thats a pretty extreme turn. I doubt I will see major issues here 20230106_170903.jpg

I am sure the steering arm nut will hit but JUST before full lock....thats not a huge issue right? 20230106_175027.jpg
