Heart - Stairway to Heaven Led Zeppelin - Kennedy Center Honors HD

    Hello,
Over the many years of rock music playing in the garage while doing something to our car projects, it wasn’t until recently during one of our many "clean out the garage cabinets and drawers" that I decided to change up a little.

Usually, it is to hook up our cool speakers to the Ipod Touch and blast away at the recordings from the early days to the current music scene. Yes, we old folks started in rock and roll/Motown sounds and are still listening to a bevy of old rock sounds and the new stuff, thanks to our granddaughter, over the years.

During the old small two car garage days, the Cassette tapes played during the car work areas with the door up for circulation. Then as the work continued to different houses and workplace, the music players got more creative with stereo units and large bookshelf speakers.

But, our last house has a small two car garage in a very quiet neighborhood and the garage door usually gets closed during car work or garage work. The music gets blasted with the new speakers and a variety of small amplifiers to get quality sounds.

But, to not make enemies of our neighbors, we insulated the garage door and the walls have insulation and drywall finishing. So, the sound is almost negligible, walking on the sidewalk, even at higher volumes blasting inside. Modern tech + insulation is a wonderful thing…

Recently, I took my laptop and hooked up the speakers to watch a You Tube recording of the classic: Stairway to Heaven. Not the original, that is still on the Ipod Touch playlist, but this was a film of a concert. I was supposed to be cleaning out our drawers to make things easier to find and use daily.

The concert was a tribute to Led Zeppelin with the son of the original drummer playing and the group Heart doing some of the guitar work and vocals.

It was something different and I got little to no work done as the clear, loud music was blasting for 7 minutes of pure fun. We normally do not like re-pop music with different artists doing a classic, but this one was outstanding.

Then, it led (pun intended) to continuing tracks of Led Zeppelin new and old... for a rousing garage clean out mode...YRMV

Mostly 30s and 40s big band or (depending on my mood) old timey western and bluegrass.
