This looks extremely close to the '63 ragtop that was built in my dad's shop back in the '70s by a friend of his. Same flares & L88 scoop. Had a pretty fair size ducktail rear spoiler. About the only difference was I remember it having a white top with the black interior and the dark sapphire blue. Lotsa rides in that one as a kid. I have no pics though, and I can't find anything on the guy. He also did some 68 & 69 AMX's at the shop.

I found this video interesting. I have always wondered about this car and know virtually nothing about it. I believe this is the same car. Thee rollbar is one reason but it pretty much looks the same except for the paint. Also the video is incorrect as this car would run in gas starting in 1968. There were a number of Vette gassers that ran without a top including the Gianino pic above (this pic above is when Gianino switched to D/A in 69) Vette -58-60-2r.jpg . He won Indy in modified sports in 67 and gas in 68 and Indy in 69 in altered. Even though the rulebooks may have required front brakes there were a number of Vettes and other makes that did not have front brakes and ran in gas. The guys I ran with ran a 57 Vette in 68-70 without front brakes and we ran without a top and a small plexiglass windscreen in B/G. I watched the tech guys tech the car numerous times and they never paid any attention to the front brakes.

Cool video and I am glad the car survived and hope it continues to stay as it is.

Also some great pics by you guys in the last few days.
