  1. This is mine- LB 2" chop. But I know it is not chopped enough because I can still see the traffic lights. Some day another inch or so.

I made my own. Also bought the header from Sid then used 3/4 .03 wall tubing. I think it turned out ok. see my album for finished photo

  3. Well I am in the process of doing my 3” chop. Did the irons from old originals. Made the header and modified bows. Made the rear window from an old frame cousin Ted had laying around. Started a mock up at the trim shop today on some cheap pattern material. Finished will be black Hart’s. Also doing side curtains. Did the windshield awhile back. Hey Mark, love your roadster in fully fendered form LOL

  5. Top all finished. Picked it up today. It’s like driving a chopped coupe:cool: E97C143C-8565-4748-8998-DA5CEC6F4FB1.jpeg 10607F64-1D78-417C-B4FD-1E9DFF174466.jpeg 7CE40891-7647-4788-BF1C-13AAEE86E7A2.jpeg 9BED34B5-3339-4FE5-B375-ADFDE0800F7C.jpeg

That turned out fantastic @ct1932ford !! I love your side curtains too. I haven’t taken mine off since complete as it really takes the heat off the summer sun (3.5” chop)

Hey that was quick Mark and looks great. If it is just like driving a chopped coupe then you don't need that 5W so you better send it out to me LOL

  8. Thanks for the compliment. I can fold mine down. I like that jalopy look. How do your side curtains mount on top? Do they just slide inside the top? I am going to need some additional support for mine. Maybe a small strap to the irons. The rods are too far back to offer support in the middle.

Mine are just retained as the top overlaps them. The ability for your top to fold down and not get in the door opening is a big bonus in my mind.

Sooo good!! Your roadster is one of my favorites- it should look really cool with the black wheels too!

I really like your top and especially the side curtains. Is it possible you can show some additional photos of the side curtains and how they attach to the windshield post and door? Thank you.

  14. You can see the studs for mounting on the stantion and windshield frame. I took original mesurements from original car and adjusted for 3" chop. IMG_3059.JPG

  15. Again you can see the snap placement that i used original car to lay out. IMG_2945.JPG

  16. Great top @ct1932ford !!
Do you still have the layout dimensions for the side curtain snaps? No original 32’s around here.

Hi, I like your post. I have a question. What are you doing with the tape?
I also want to put a top on my '29. The company I was initially considering was Rod Tops, because they claimed that you could store the top in the trunk. They are out of business.
A lot of the new tops out there are all metal, but I like the wood look.
I found an original one on Facebook from a guy at an auto dismantler in Tx, but I am weary about sending money

These are the door snaps. Some originals had another one at the front of the door. I decided not to use one there. As far as the windshield frame and stantions , is your car chopped?
