In 1970 I got a job pumping gas at Bayshore Shell. The apprentice,Marty Cunningham, was into British sports cars and motorcycles. We made fun at his rusted MG.As all the rest of us were into American Muscle!Marty's dad was from England and Marty would drive his dad's bikes to work.He came to work one day on a Vincent and on another day an Aerial. We never gave these Brit bikes a second thought then but boy are they rare and valuable now!Hope Marty still has them!
give me the sportster anytime.you could travel on that anyday.i had a similar model for years and traveled the length and breath of the country on it.
My 68 Triumph chopped in 72, was pretty much a basket case, been piecing it back together. Harley 16 on the rear with triumph hub, GME tank. The frame had some nice body work done, gonna spray it GM apple red soon. Engine is a running 77 I had sitting around.
My dad was a WW2 vet who served in the Royal Canadian Navy in the South Pacific. He became an Ottawa cop in the early '50's and was on motorcycle duty for a couple of years. He drove,I think it was,a Harley 1200, with a side car.I was only a kid.In those days the Ottawa Police drove their bikes all Winter and they were kick started. It was a chore some mornings! He wore a big buffalo coat to keep warm which were acquired from the R.C.M.P.The coat really smelled and my mother wouldn't let him come in the house with it on.The coat was left every night on the porch. My dad used to drive me to school or pick me up while I sat in the sidecar...great memories!
Could this be Greg Allman and Duane’s Sportster , he crashed and died from injuries . I’m not sure but could be .
Belonged to a friend. He's recently passed away. I've been buying a few things from his family but not this ^^^. Mike collected about everything a single guy could want!
A few Crockers have gone over half million bucks at auctions....The were the fastest accelerating production vehicle in their day but the several versions of the engine had head problems...
